I imagine Lethal Weapon will get a 9.30-10pm slot on Saturdays after Through the Keyhole, ITV did that with The Americans and Pushing Daisies so it's feasible.

I do wonder whether ITV should look for a post watershed comedy entertainment shows, they've tried a few in the past but only Keyhole has stuck. Something like a UK version of Hollywood Game Night or Whose Line is it Anyway?
Whose Line would be a tough one because I'm pretty sure Channel 4 still own the format rights in the UK with Hat Trick.

They tried an improv show about 10 years ago called "Thank God You're Here" on Saturday nights hosted by Paul Merton but it flopped.

They should've done more episodes of the Dame Edna series as that was pretty popular.

I think the only way 45 minute dramas would work on the BBC is if they did something like this:

Extend the news until 7:15
One Show at 7:15
Eastenders/Factual 7:45
1 Hr factual like Watchdog 8:15
45 minute drama from 9:15

It's awkward and I don't really like missing the junctions but it's viable. It would mean shifting the whole schedule though.

Or alternatively, you could run two 45 minute shows back to back (Maybe Factual/Drama).

I'd prefer to see 90 minute dramas return to BBC1 though, running from 8:30 to 10. One thing ITV have right is that the news is flexible and they can quite easily shift the news to 10:30 if they want to run a 90 minute drama. BBC are very reluctant to do that.
ITV's 10pm news doesn't rate well. They have nothing to lose by moving it.

Apologies, I haven't scrolled through the thread, but just noticed that new episodes of 8 Out of 10 Cats are going out on More4 on Tuesdays.

Seems like rather mad scheduling and channel choice - if shunted to digital, wouldn't E4 be the more obvious home? And is C4 really so full of content that it makes sense to put original content on More4?

I guess maybe it's seen it's day (I might last have watched it in a Big Brother eviction sandwich, definitely not yesterday), but still...)

Channel 4 doesn't seem interest in reviving it despite its success with the live version and the US version, it'd be better for Hat Trick and Angst to sell it to another broadcaster.

The problem is that ITV and other networks would gain an advantage with everything starting on the hour or half hour. And 75 minutes of news is far too much.

Schedules are on a hour or half hour for a good reason and messing with that structure is risky. It's fine on the weekends but not weekdays.

So my prediction wasn't far off

The Missing close to 4.5m and IAC 8.4/5m

Thanks for these. That's a big swing for Judge Rinder in a day, I wonder what happened there. This Morning seems to have improved a little bit lately, whilst Tipping Point remains strong.

If anyone has access to this week's Broadcast magazine, would they be able to find out the +1 figures for this weekend's X Factor and I'm a Celebrity? Should be posted in the Top 100 Network Programmes section. Many thanks

I'm a Celebrity is following trends, believe it or not it always drops 1m over the first 2-3 days. Should begin to stabilise from now on.
