Looks like TXF was dented by MM, which should be looking at 5m+

Excellent for SCD. I doubt the poor show last night will have much affect.

EDIT: 6.1m for TXF looks better than 5.9m.

I think TXF ratings will have a different tape checked figure

Strictly had a peak audience of 11.89 million viewers

TXF had a peak of 7.18

Hate the backing dancers.

Copied from my post on the Strictly forum. Is that enough detail for you?

I see you've joined the BBC can't do any wrong club with ADP who apparently thinks I'm an X Factor poster despite not watching the show.”

This, it set things off in a bad way when they gave Claudia 9s when there were clearly lots of mistakes and they went unmentioned- The judges were so erratic all night- Give Judge Rinder and 8 fir a terrible Salsa, but then gibe Ed 4 for a passable Jive. Normally give or take a mark or two I agree with them, but tonight was shocking.

Also Blackpool isn't really suited to TV and the backing dancers detracted from the routines and actually got in the way of the shots of the dancers for much of it.

I'm a massive Strictly fan but I came away from last night not really wanting to watch the rest of the series which was sad. A's much as it pains me to say it XF put on a better show last night

That's a great rating! About 1.5m up on what I thought.

Higher than I thought that it would be.

A great night for the big two channels, with 4 programmes rating over 6 million viewers - 2 programmes each

Great Set of ratings all round.

10.7m for SCD is amazing. I think it could hit 11m tonight for the results.

Better for X Factor although it should be making figures closer to 7m now that it's a shorter show and were down to the last 6.

Good for IAC but it would be nicer to be closer to 9m as I predicted or was that thinking too positively?

That's a great rating for MM.

I'm A Celeb up 600k on last year. But down 70k on 2014

So XF wasn't hurt by the competitive scheduling of MM, good stuff!

Highest Saturday since the first live show. XF was ahead of McIntyre when the programme itself was on, but fell behind in the ad breaks (and McIntyre picked up a few during them) putting him ahead by a whisker overall.

Oh dear for X Factor. Popcorn TV failed.

See how programmes with a bit more zing to them bring in more viewers to the main channels compared with the lazy options.

Planet Earth rated 4m higher than Antiques Roadshow and Michael McIntyre rated 2m higher than Who Dares Win and yet X Factor's ratings remained static. That's new viewers coming in.

I think that its good to have two shows on at the same time which pulled in great numbers.

Different demo's at work there ?

As with last week and Planet Earth 2, TXF held up incredibly well

Wonderful for MM great honest entertainment post Strictly well deserved. Scheduled well.

MM show was better than the spring series, and they have been plugging it, but that's better than I expected.

I don't think it was the best ever Blackpool edition for Strictly but it wasn't that bad imo. The rating is excellent and I have to say I don't notice camerawork and that element all that much-I suppose if they were showing looking through an open window I might take notice

As for XF well its rating as ever is all things to all people: good, bad, indifferent, dire middling, average,as expected. Take your pick

That's the problem with ad breaks when comparing overnights on a commercial channel to an ad free channel. Viewers jump during ad breaks.

Strictly definitely got 10.7m then? Is that tape checked?

Yes, but it does seem to be keeping its core of viewers-through PE and MM assaults etc. Maybe its found its level and something to build from next year.

But then you do add in viewing a hour later which makes those fluctuations relatively immaterial.
