Agree. I think Christmas TV is as much about traditional programming in the schedule as it is about new shows.

People timeshift Christmas TV nowadays anyway, as last year showed.

They were contracted to 110 standard shows in 2016. Excluding the celebrity ones.

Spoiler
They swap from repeats to new to repeats when the jackpot is won, for continuity and so the repeats may start at odd times depending on winners.

It's hard to work out the figures because it's not in smaller intervals, but using the figure at the start of each programme that makes it:

BBC1:
The One Show: 3.4m
Still Open All Hours (r): 2.7m
EastEnders: 5.7m
Citizen Khan: 2.5m
HIGNFY: 3.9m
Walliams & Friend: 2.8m

ITV:
Emmerdale: 5.7m
Corrie 1: 6.3m
Countrywise: 2.7m
Corrie 2: 6.1m

Obviously that's not accurate but it's in the right area.

That's interesting. Thanks for posting that. So that the breakdown for BBC1 and ITV every 30-mins.

Presumably those are the full slot averages excluding +1?!

Zac has an opinion, Zac is entitled to that opinion. Many agree with it tonight. It wasn't snide it's an opinion.

As you didn't defend XF I assume you agree that the invasion was staged?”

I dunno, maybe because there were actually two stage invaders, and that's why two people ran down the steps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c..._channel=Ouchy Conspiracy disproved.

And logic should make you ask: why would a producer push the stage invader all the way down the steps? If it were fake it would have been a cue at most. Zac is way too happy about this but someone needs to rain on his agenda parade.

A push can be staged.....I.E. James Bond stuntman. Why a producer and where was security that's what they are paid to do.

XF is desperate for any publicity.

They don't even have the excuse of it hurting Downton by being wasted there anymore, yet they still won't shift it. It's just nonsensical.”

When did 5.8m for both Who and Midwife get to be 'dreadful' on a day that Downton got 6.9 and Strictly 6.5? There's no evidence at all that Midwife would do better on Boxing Day. The BBC News was the only programme to top 6 million all day last year so it hardly looks like there's a huge audience all fresh and agog to be plumbed there.

Well of course you're not going to accept the facts. But anyone who watched it can see what really happened.

The " " on Zac's post sums him up in a nutshell. He needs to find something else in life to get excited about, not seeing X Factor get criticised. He's always been horribly snide towards Syco shows and it's time he was called out.

I do not want to ruin it for many but I know in advance when it will occur. There was a POV or Radio Times complaint on continuity before.

Spoiler
Makes me think we may have a long run without a jackpot when the new ones return.

Surely consider, for a moment, the possibility that it's precisely because it's exactly the same programmes in exactly the same order at almost exactly the same times every single year that viewers have given up on the big day.

This year was a golden opportunity to be the tonic needed to regenerate interest in the big day, including giving something to interest the next generation of avid TV watchers where the programming aimed in their direction usually ends at 6pm if not before, if only primetime had seen Frozen followed by Bake Off with CTM/SCD/MBB nowhere to be seen. But, alas, we look likely to be stuck with more or less the same old same old yet again.

Im not sure such a thing exists. Still Game did ok but it has colossal support in Scotland, otherwise it would be as lost as Walliams and any other new comedy you want to fling at Friday at 9.30. Its just not a good slot for a genre that already, the public just don't take seriously any more outside of rehashed relics and Mrs Brown.

Is all of this really necessary? Why not treat posters with respect? And saying he wasn't intelligent earlier is just downright nasty.

Zac has every right to state his opinion.

I actually think for once, ITV dose not look bad this year.
I would just one or two things , I do thing ED to Early.

BBC 1 looks really messy.

Doctor Who too early
EE 9:30 Start, I'm be drunk by then.

For BBC 1 I would like see like this

15:15 - Frozen
16 50 - BBC News
17:00 - Bake Off
18:00 - Call The Midwife
18:45- Strictly Come Dancing
20:00 - EastEnders

22:15 Mr Brown boys

Or
17:00 - Strictly Come Dancing
18;15 Eastenders
18:45: Bake Off
19:45 Call the Midwife
20:30 Doctor Who
21:30 Eastenders
22:00 News

I change that so many times lol

The group were the YouTube channel Trollstation, a whole load of them. No conspiracy.

I get why people see this as suspicious of course. But since more and more details have emerged, this isn't one to investigate further.
