Anyone got any GMB ratings? Susanna Reid was having another one of her PR accidents today 'accidentally' getting caught eating when the cameras returned to her from another feature. Of the course the 'accident' was picked up on by the tabloids. This could be a sign that the ratings are even worse than normal or perhaps Morgan & Reid are just looking for some press attention because they will be on their holidays soon.
For a show that you don't like, you seem to watch it an awful lot...

It comes to something when the top programme of the day is the BBC Local News and Weather.... So much for all the money spent on Drama/Light Entertainment/Factual...

It's quite embarrassing really. However, it does prove the popularity of BBC local news.

Why,it is often the case on both BBC and ITV,normally excluding the soaps.Local news has always been very popular.

The BBC Local news is required viewing in our house - nothing to with MrAlley having a bit of a thing for the presenter of course

I think also probably on days like yesterday when all the locals are wittering about how hot it's been people are genuinely interested.

It's just that the local news is probably one of the cheapest half hours on the telly and ironic that all the money that is chucked at dramas/factual/quizzes etc can't compete is all. We're as guilty as anyone as we always watch the local news (and listen to the BBC local radio most of the time if it's on).

Thanks Ray. I feel bad for The Living and the Dead. Why's it doing poorly?
Isn't the entire series already on iplayer? Has it done better there?

And pitch CBB directly against the start of the Olympic Games?

A head start was vital. And they appear to have assembled a decent cast for a summer series.
Yes the cast looks good i understand the head start and its rumoured to be longer isnt it.

How well does the olympics normally do obviously London 2012 was massive and a once in a lifetime event. Will this one bring in the ratings ?

Good question!

I have my doubts to be honest. Team GB are unlikely to do anywhere near as well this time around, for a number of reasons. Plus, a number of big names are set to be absent due to concerns over the Zika virus. And if Russia are allowed to compete, I think that will be incredibly controversial and could definitely dent the popularity of the Games.

But I think other channels still need to be cautious in terms of scheduling just in case they do take off.

It's rumoured to be 7 weeks long I think.

BB will 100% be back next summer, the ratings it's getting now are fine. C5 just need to learn from the mistakes this year and schedule it so that it doesn't clash with Love Island.

So not ouch for EastEnders after all.
It's a jolly good rating on the warmest day of the year, with an hour-long Emmerdale having a head-start on it.

And it was ahead slightly also. Mind you that Emmerdale episode was ridiculous. Have Emmerdale jumped the shark with the Belle Storyline?

Who are the 'big' names that you say are set to be absent from Rio who are going to affect viewing figures ? Be interested to know.

Alan Green of BBC Radio isn't going, nor is Richard Conway who is a sports news reporter, both household names (in their own households)

The week of 30th July - 5th August is looking strong for Channel 5, far more variety than usual, it could pull in some of their best ratings if viewers give their new shows a chance.

Suspects: The Enemy Within (UK drama)
Borderline (UK comedy)
Celebrity Big Brother (reality)
It's Not Me, It's You (panel show)
Impractical Jokers UK (UK comedy)
FIA World Rally Championship Highlights (motor sport)
Cricket on 5: England v Pakistan (sport)
GPs: Behind Closed Doors (factual)
The Dog Rescuers with Alan Davies (factual)
NCIS (US drama)

What is Alan Green afraid of, isn't Zika supposed to affect pregnant Women and those possibly planning to have children soon and isn't he in his 60's?

Of course they haven't. Belle is known to have mental health problems which involve her hearing voices.
