You've removed Strictly

Considering the Christmas Strictly is so inconsequential, if it wasn't on Christmas Day, it begs the question why bother doing it at all.

On the other hand, Christmas Eve is a Saturday, so maybe it could air there in its regular time slot like any other Saturday.

Then there is Midwife, which always seemed a bit heavy going for Christmas Day, and only seemed to be there because Downton was, and it was kind of the BBC's Downton. Now there is no Downton anymore, maybe this could be the year Midwife moves to Boxing Day.

Then there is also the question, despite how massive it is, does Bake Off really fit on Christmas Day when everyone is bloated on the sofa after the biggest meal of the year.

Doctor Who, despite not being as big as it was in recent years would look odd and out of place on another day, so I can see that staying in place.

Revolting Rhymes is currently down for Boxing Day at 6.30 and Tuesday 27th at 7 (there are 2 eps). Would be easy enough to get it on Christmas Day, with part 2 keeping one of those slots. I'm obviously in favour of booting Midwife off the main day but that sadly seems unlikely. If anything goes I suspect it'll be Bake Off but I wouldn't be surprised if it stays there with Revolting Rhymes staying where it is currently placed.

They haven't filmed another Alright on The Night so it looks like there won't be one of those this year. A bit surprising as it normally does reasonably well. The soap quiz did alright last year against Sherlock - they might fling it there again this year! Not sure what they've got in contention for New Year's Day actually. I imagine it'll be pretty thin, but there are ways of doing that without it being total crap. Decent movies help although I'm not sure what they've got. Harry Potter was always good for filling the whole of primetime with decent ratings but they don't seem to have those this year.

I am another one who thinks the BBC comedies in the summer was a complete waste. However, what is done is done now but I would love for a few of them to get a repeat in the later evenings of the three big days. For example, showing Goodnight Sweetheart after Mrs Browns Boys on Christmas Day - it would do a lot better than the Tracey Ulman show best of!

I think ITV have The Dark Knight Rises on NYD.

But personally I think thy should launh Vera on this day.

I don't think much of that schedule really, Christmas Comedy Shuffle is probably a better bet to close Xmas night that Tracey Ullman so I wouldn't be surprised to see those switched. I'd prefer Strictly on Xmas eve moving Pointless to 6pm and taking out EE but I don't think that'll happen either. (EE looks so out of place there) I think Outnumbered is wasted at 10pm on Boxing day too, I'd be tempted to put that on after CTM and putting revolting rhymes on earlier on Xmas day to fill the Strictly slot.

I'd also flip EE/SOAH on boxing day with the last ever Bake Off giving a big lead in to Witness for the Prosecution.

Also surprised Strictly are going for an all in one final instead of two parts as usual, I know they are one couple down so maybe that's why but its never stopped them before even when they had a two person final. I think that might split in the finals.

There's nothing to really post for ITV. The only full provisionals in place have been published already - for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The soaps have been slotted in but other than that... I'll have a look again tomorrow and see if there's anything concrete.

I'd like to see Blankety Blank clash with SCD and EE facing Maigret. They'd be interesting match ups. However I fear they won't start at the same time which will ruin it a little.

Blank v SCD could be a preview of things to come if, iF IFFF it is good.

Would be great if EE aired twice in a night. Once at 6.30pm and then again at 8.30pm. Ratings wise it would be an excellent idea. They did this in 06',07' and 08' 07' and 07' 08' had extremely strong ratings particularity 07' but that was bound to howber 08' had over 11m on both showings.

No I agree. I think they have had a good mix of guests performers. And personally I would prefer lesser known artists who have great songs, instead of the big artists who release average songs.

For example Busted were good last night.

The X Factor is looking weak, but then again its still pulling in 6m+ against 10m on BBC1.
