I'm so shocked about Humans. It's got to be one of the fastest 'hero to zero' moments for a TV drama ever.

Do you think Channel 4 knew Humans was going to go this way? They have scheduled it against I'm A Celebrity and it's pretty obvious that BBC1 is using the same slot and competition to burn off My Mother And Other Strangers where it will do minimum damage.
In the Broadcasting forum there us a thread where many are posting its lost its way completely. |

I'm not particularly surprised as it lost nearly half its audience across the first series so was always likely to decline. Pretty shocking how far it has fallen though, it's lost over half the audience this series started with! Surely they won't bring it back? They need to cut their losses and dump it, like they did with Indian Summers. |

Channel 4 are evidently just not very good at nurturing their dramas.

Thanks lewi
BIB Well clearly from these ratings, even excl +1 Emmerdale is ahead of EE. So for a good 5 weeks its been on the back foot. Excellent for SCD and PEII. I'm A Celeb doing really well, with almost all timeshifts over 2m. No other show could sustain such high ratings for 3 weeks. |

Would the Chase do any better? It's doing great at 5pm but that's an easier slot and everyone knows it is on. My mum adores TP but she never knew it was shown on a Saturday. The BBC builds shows over years, allowing people to find and grow to like a show. Pointless and Countryfile are great examples.
ITV have no LE shows drawing over 4m that I can think off besides the Cowell and Dec ones. Once you see 4m as being a big hit, you start to view 3m differently. There's less justification for this scale in the New Year though since the BBC are also struggling there. Maybe the BBC has decided that the LE era is over and people want drama on weekends. First Sunday, now Saturday with Who and Taboo. And of course Casualty. Hope not. PS - has the Cube been axed then? |

Am I the only one who thinks Casualty looks really out of place on a Saturday night? These days, it looks and feels so much more like a midweek 8pm drama than a Saturday 9pm drama.
Holby City is on Tuesdays Ex Scotland. Generally rules out Wednesday as you wouldn't want it on twice. Thursday Vs ITV soaps at 8 pm. Uses up a drama slot or valuable slot if at 9 pm. Monday is ITV soap full, and in Winter used for top drama like Silient Witness. Friday would have to be 8.30 and Vs ITV soap and breaks up comedy night. So basically hasn't got a home midweek. |

The first showing was on Boxing Day 1992 on ITV. It has also been shown on BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 5 (most recently on 23rd August last year).

I would think Vera would hold up better than anything else ITV can find for that slot. I think it could hold 5m against Sherlock, and stop ITV being totally whiped. And then The Dark Knight Rises can be shown on the following Saturday after whatever is shown beforehand. |

You and others keep saying this but in overall reach EE will be way ahead.
It would be great if they could include app and web views in the consolidated ratings eventually because there is a disadvantage to younger skewing shows. |

EE will be adding a lot more through iPlayer (on apps and web which isn't accounted for) than Corrie and Emmerdale through ITV Hub. It will certainly push it ahead of Emmerdale a bit closer to Corrie in overall viewers.

That isn't strictly true. It lost a lot in its overnights, but every episode was consistently over 4.8m in its 28 day rating, and over 3.5m in its 7 day ratings.

ITV this Christmas:
Tuesday 27th @ 7.30pm - Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire Wednesday 28th @ 7.30pm - Harry Potter & The Order of The Phoneix Thursday 29th @ 7.30pm - Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince Friday 30th @ 8pm - Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 1 I kid you not. Presumably Hallows 2 will go on New Year's Eve. So incredibly lazy, yet still somehow an improvement on the tripe that's gone in those slots in the last couple of years. The first 3 have afternoon screenings on Xmas Eve, Day and Boxing Day. |

I think you asked earlier whether digiguide had noted any changes to BBC One's Christmas Day schedule - they haven't as of yet.
