Do you think Channel 4 knew Humans was going to go this way? They have scheduled it against I'm A Celebrity and it's pretty obvious that BBC1 is using the same slot and competition to burn off My Mother And Other Strangers where it will do minimum damage.

Channel 4 has seriously lost its way this year, if you take out the Paralympics there has not been anything if interest on C4. Its creative director Jay Hunt isn't creating anything new.

In the Broadcasting forum there us a thread where many are posting its lost its way completely.

I'm not sure they saw a slump quite like this coming.

I'm not particularly surprised as it lost nearly half its audience across the first series so was always likely to decline. Pretty shocking how far it has fallen though, it's lost over half the audience this series started with! Surely they won't bring it back? They need to cut their losses and dump it, like they did with Indian Summers.

They better hope No Offence doesn't suffer the same fate. Channel 4 drama can do well as evident with National Treasure but putting it on Sunday has not helped at all.

The problem is the channel not any one show now.

Channel 4 are evidently just not very good at nurturing their dramas.

This is Channel 4 though. They'll probably announce that it'll run all year round or something stupid like that.

Is it ready for broadcast? Last year it started on Jan 31st and that was the earliest ever; usually April.

Am I the only one who thinks Casualty looks really out of place on a Saturday night? These days, it looks and feels so much more like a midweek 8pm drama than a Saturday 9pm drama.

It'll be probably that or Endeavour, they could have TDKR on NYD then have Vera or Endeavour on the Monday since that'll be a bank holiday followed the second episode on the 8th January

It gets reasonable viewers against ITV shows and hard to place it anywhere else.

Holby City is on Tuesdays Ex Scotland. Generally rules out Wednesday as you wouldn't want it on twice.
Thursday Vs ITV soaps at 8 pm. Uses up a drama slot or valuable slot if at 9 pm.

Monday is ITV soap full, and in Winter used for top drama like Silient Witness.
Friday would have to be 8.30 and Vs ITV soap and breaks up comedy night.

So basically hasn't got a home midweek.

Must admit that is a great Xmas Day schedule from Channel 4. They seem to go a lot more "mainstream" on Xmas Day these days. It was only 10-15 years ago that it seemed Xmas Day on C4 meant opera, ballet and foreign cinema. Interesting that they've got It's a Wonderful Life on Xmas Day itself when that film is more commonly associated with Xmas Eve. In fact, I think it was last year or the year before C4 did indeed show It's a Wonderful Life on the afternoon of Xmas Eve because that's when I remember watching it.

Yes I would think so. Earlier this year the started Endeavour first, which Vera took over (on the 31st).

I would think Vera would hold up better than anything else ITV can find for that slot. I think it could hold 5m against Sherlock, and stop ITV being totally whiped.

And then The Dark Knight Rises can be shown on the following Saturday after whatever is shown beforehand.

EE will be adding a lot more through iPlayer (on apps and web which isn't accounted for) than Corrie and Emmerdale through ITV Hub. It will certainly push it ahead of Emmerdale a bit closer to Corrie in overall viewers.

It would be great if they could include app and web views in the consolidated ratings eventually because there is a disadvantage to younger skewing shows.

That isn't strictly true. It lost a lot in its overnights, but every episode was consistently over 4.8m in its 28 day rating, and over 3.5m in its 7 day ratings.

You could get the figures from the TV Player Report and add them up for us.

Humans so suits the boxset generation. We're stacking the second series to watch nightly.

Hang on, so they're moving the soaps? Coronation Street displaced on Wednesday and Friday, Emmerdale displaced on Thursday. Odd move; I wonder where the three episodes will go?

It'd make more sense to me to air The Deathy Hallows 2 on New Year's Day rather than New Year's Eve.
