Surely I'm a Celebrity was dented by The Missing finale? Or is that too obvious?

It's been my favourite series since 2010, it's a nice easy watch which I feel is exactly what we need on telly right now. It's much like Strictly, that's also a nice easy watch in the main.

Last year's series was, for me, bordering on being unwatchable with that horrible woman, the reality TV lot and the constant arguments. Leave the drama/controversy to Big Brother and X Factor.

Each to your own I suppose but my favourite IAC contestant of all time was Paul Burrell he was a proper pantomime villian/knob jockey but he was TV gold.

But I bet last years was more up your street. Last year was a bit more Big Brother-fied with Lady C causing fractions and arguments. But there is only so much of that casual viewers of IAC will watch in large numbers.

My tip for the IAC crown would be Joel by the way.

You can still get 7/2 about him which seems a fair price. Scarlett entered as favourite based on trends and her perceived popularity on Gogglebox, whereas viewers will have warmed to Joel as the series has gone on having been a relative unknown at the start. That's a definite advantage for him.

Of the rest only Adam to beat, and he doesn't come across all that genuine.

Great to see nearly 13m viewers watching BBC One & ITV at 9pm last night.

That doesn't happen too often on weeknights, it's especially rare when GBBO or IAC isn't on.

Last year was my 2nd least fave.

My favourites were Kerry year , Gino year and Foggy (2014) year respectively.

I like balance hence why I liked the 2014 series and not 2015 and why I liked BB17 and not BB15.

The Missing was up 1m week-on-week. A similar number IAC was down.

When do New Year provisionals go up ?

I'm guessing this will be ITV's NYE (on the basis that the first 2 appear in ITV's Christmas trailer but are not scheduled up to 30th Dec). Unless they carry the last Potter over to NYD.

Last night however I gave Martin all 5.

This is easily the most annoying repeat of the festive season. If I write and tell them that, do you think they'd print my letter? (Personally, I wouldn't hold my breath.)

I was thinking the other day - is it fair to say that prime time repeats on the main channels has dramatically reduced in recent years? It seems to me it's quite rare for them to repeat anything in a prime time slot, whereas it used to be quite common.

I don't get why they highlight this in the headline :

Includes previously-seen films and classics such as The Vicar of Dibley

Random. The Daily Mail don't really get telly. Do they really expect every slot, even those outside of prime time to contain new material & unseen films ?

They have a dairy card system, the Daily Fail, and The Sun, 1st December they will " repeat" this article, funny The Sun doesn't mention Sky, I wonder why they do not compare Sky1 to BBC. BBC said prime time repeats on BBC1 are down, ITV choose to exclude Films out of their quote, must be a Harry Potter Magic trick!

My son does have on TiVo and ITV Hub.

BBC1 fell on repeats last Christmas and has fallen again this year.

The Daily Fail doesn't get a lot, it's quite happy twisting anything to their opinion.

One of the best series they have ever had. Last night was just a blip. Most Episodes have rated from 8.5-9m. Sunday and Monday had 9.1m

The annual saga re how many repeats there are over Christmas was not started by the Mail - but by the former Lib Dem MP (and at the time their Culture spokesman) Don Foster. I know the researcher who used to have to trawl through the listings each December to produce the annual list. In recent years each of the tabloids (not just the Mail, but just as often the Mirror, Express or Sun) have run the story themselves, but it was the Lib Dems who started it!

It's " over repeated" in the tabloids now, and makes you wonder, why actually buy them.

I'm A Celebrity had some competition and dipped. It has been winning its timeslot every night. Crisis? What crisis?

It was if The Missing thread on DS is anything to go by. Folks wanted to watch the finale live. Some watched IAC until 9pm and then turned over to BBC. May have recorded rest of IAC to watch later!

This series of IAC is way better than last year and it is encouraging that producers have avoided the trend of manufacturing conflict. Public have wised up and are tired of it. There is no surprise that shows that went down this route shed viewers. XF and before that BB. They follow a very similar trajectory. Both seem to have a set of viewers with a habit. Most of the commentary on the forums/on-line is negative about the shows. As for IAC I think a group of folks getting on striving to do well for each other is just what the audience want to see after the fractious year we've had.

Anyone know the ratings for itvs quiz show tenable? Im really enjoying it
