Right Charlotte, (you annoy me at times) I have an idea for you (don't groan) but I have seen the line up for the Swedish Eurovision National Final MelodiFestivalen and the talent is through the roof. Develop Eurovision: You Decide and you know spend some blinking money to get the talent in and film it at arenas around the UK and have the final at the O2 arena. I bet Graham would LIVE to do this. Spend the money Charlotte don't be satisfied with just turning up. Rather than cheap shiny floor LE Let's Drag up for "X" Relief or Let it Dull or Let's try and replace two of the blinking Spice Girls the most successful and iconic girl group of all time!. Actually invest in a format that might yield a return. It could be a spectacular rival to The Voice especially as the contest is skewing younger these days.

And I doubt most viewers are upset, they're more upset that a successful formula has been broken up. I doubt there are many outside Love Productions in the TV industry that aren't siding with the BBC on this one.

I think next year's shows are placeholders. When you lose a show you need something to fill the gap while you work on getting something else. Your Eurovision idea is just a glorified and expanded A Song For Europe that BBC1 have done to death over the years. We need things that aren't singing shows. Easier said than done.

It'll be interesting to see how it rates away from IAC and particularly in two weeks time against ITV's low-rated comedy. Expect it won't rise very much if at all. Viewers no longer have just three or four channels to choose from.

Yeah, of course they'd love to win It again- It's a huge boost to the host city and Sweden has proven you can break even or even make a profit on it if you have the right structures in place. I actually think their current tactics of having respectable national finals on BBC 4 with seripus music is the right one- If you gave the UK melodifestavalen they'd pick Alcazar

Improving the brand in the UK is important before they can attempt something even slightly more ambitious (Let's not forget Sweden have their biggest acts and songwriters vying for glory, it would take a seismic shift for that to happen here atm)

Agree, the after failing to turn 'love-in' is the biggest turn off of The Voice. Good that its gone.

But The Voice in the initial stage was popular because it was "nice". If you take the nice element away you are left with TXF on speed.

That's normally how it works on The Voice apparently. It means they'll be less dishonesty from judges.
