It would actually be the 6th series of Citizen Khan if its given the go-ahead.

It may have caused them to overpay for the EPL but they saved hundreds of millions in UCL costs. They seem to be cutting costs in some areas but then spending more in other. Maybe it's more a shift from sport to entertainment.

Also, the cord cutting will be affecting them too. Sort of the pressures are due to streaming rather than BT. Churn is at 11% rather than the normal 9.5%. They're hoping sky Mobile will help with that.

It seems as though he may well call it a day when his contract ends with DWTS. It wont be quite the same without Len on SCD, the series has been hugely lucky to have been able to use just six permanent judges in 12 years. They struck gold from the outset and had the sense to leave well alone for the most part. Len has been a cornerstone of the success of the show and it will be a rare moment of examination for the show when the new judge takes over.

The reality is ITV can't run the shows at the length the BBC did. They were bloated without ads and most of the show is filled with unnecessary chatter. This has to be cut down. ITV have found a way to do so which makes sense to me. It's not necessary to spend 5 minutes showing the judges chatting to contestants which we won't see again.

At his age, flying back and forth from Los Angeles every week is pretty gruelling. When he does the Spring edition of DWTS, he does stay there for the duration.

Whatever happens The Voice will do better than most entertainment shows ITV have put on Saturday nights.

The ratings for Alan Carr's Happy Hour are horrendous, Channel 5 had an okay night breaking 1m at 9pm

They should manage that at least - maybe 5.5m each for LIS and TVUK? There's 12m watching now and this is before Xmas and the bad weather.

He signed a two year contract with DWTS so he's got no choice but to complete it. What he wants to avoid is his last DWTS being blighted with the insane schedule that sees him judging in London on the Saturday and LA on the Monday so he's left SCD at the first opportunity. Nobody's expecting him to go beyond the extra year at DWTS.

The problem with the beeb''s version of the chatter was that it was totally inane instead of constructive- I think they'd be better off giving some constructive honest feedback as to why they didn't turn but editing no turns down a bit instead of showing them in full

Last week's was so/so, last night's was a bit like a disappointing sandwich - looked good start and finish (top and bottom) - Queen & Jeremy Kyle sketch but the filling inbetween was somewhat of a letdown! Generally I do like Harry Enfield (and Walliams) anyway.

Alan Carr Happy Hour wasn't too bad. But it did feel like Ch4 just commissioned anything, and it was an on the spot commission.

I much as I like FT suspect had they repeated it any other time it wouldn't have rated as well. I rememer The One Show did a tribute to Terry Wogan afte he passed away, and its ratings rose by 1m more.

Oh for sure sky were even more determined to get the EPL rights and made the right decision to push all of their chips in. I'm not sure how important UCL is to them now, if they got it they'd still need at least half of the EPL games. It'd change sky's whole identity if they only had one game per weekend.

sky were probably as worried about the internet lot as they were with BT. However, I do wonder if sky are working towards having fewer football matches and becoming more diverse.

Things change fast though. The UCL is hoping to have games on weekends which would be a major development if they could pull it off. Seems very unlikely.

An observation from it. The final of The Apprentice and The Apprentice: You're Hired have been listed as separate programmes. It's what many on here have been wanting for a few years now. It means we might have a situation where the actual hour-long final is down year-on-year but the BBC might be able to boast it's up because they've stripped out the lower ratings that You're Hired gets.

And I'm glad that ITV have stuck Harry Potter on in peak-viewing every night from Holiday Tuesday to (I presume) New Year's Eve because it'll give this household a chance to catch up with all the programmes we'll have to record because of clashes and awkward scheduling.

Talking of awkward scheduling - that Emmerdale scheduled for 8/30pm on Thursday 29th December starts half way through every other channel's opposition including Life In The Snow on BBC1, Robot Wars: Battle Of The Stars on BBC2, Location Location Location on Channel 4. and Biggest Dog In The World on Channel 5. Talk about making things awkward for yourself. Unless they think The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is going to be a big ratings hit. Didn't The Amazing Spider-Man 1 get about 3.5m. That wouldn't be much of a lead-in.

The tsunami of peak time repeats of Harry Potter films, makes embrassing reading in my Christmas Radio Times. I agree with you, where there are scheduling clashes I will record on TiVo and catch up when there isn't a lot else on.

I think HP will average circa two million, it gives BBC1 a free reign on many nights.

Frozen gets Barry Normans film choice, from 2013 whereas The Lion King 1996 - is a good film, but now twenty plus years old and repeated later in the week on ITV2.

Captain Phillips looks alone as a great first run film on ITV.

I agree, as a one off tribute it's okay but I doubt the BBC would repeat Fawlty Towers or any old sitcom in primetime on a regular basis
