It did. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they took it to series. If Frankie was up for it, obviously.
One Troll, on the phone, and one dived back indoors was a quick conclusion after all the work setting it up. Unless they have more meaning discussion with the trolls I can't see it being a series. Lots of shots of Frankie driving around, an important subject, but of a 45 minute show ( ex adverts) just a couple of minutes on the trolls, I wanted to see more about them, but yes they were cowards. Frankie is passionate on the subject as she was a victim herself, she presented it well, but actual successful content was light. |

ITV have confirmed there's going to be a 90 minute Christmas special of Grantchester this year, ahead of the new series in early 2017.
Don't think it'd do much on Christmas Day itself, but could do quite nicely for them elsewhere over the holiday. |

I wonder if they're planning to air series 3 in March 2017 or perhaps January 2017. I'm thinking it'll be March as they'll probably to avoid Silent Witness or Death in Paradise and ITV probably will put Endeavour or Vera against Sherlock, I expect Tennison to start in January although slot wise I'm thinking it'll be either be Monday or Wednesday

Really good for EE. Same rating as yesterday.
Brilliant for CBB. Tonight's eviction should do well. CBB will be pleased that it looks like Bear will make the final. That will garner a lot of interest. Lewis and James would be the ideal evictees from a ratings perspective. |

Surely Broadchurch will be on Mondays in January?
EastEnders has been on good form since Paul's death. Emmerdale has been holding it back. 3 more clashes coming up in the next 7 episodes! CBB will be pleased that it looks like Bear will make the final. That will garner a lot of interest. Lewis and James would be the ideal evictees from a ratings perspective. |

Channel 5 press pack is out for w/c 3rd September. A few bits and pieces of news from that will follow.
In a week where we've had a flood of negative comments in here along the lines of C5 = chav TV, the main programming highlight is Secrets of the SAS: In Their Own Words which is new to the main channel and from the description promises to be compelling viewing. Following BBC Two's Robot Wars ending the previous week, Spike launches BattleBots in the UK - potentially in the same Sunday 8pm slot although not confirmed at this stage. 5USA meanwhile will launch Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour on Tuesday 6th September at 9pm, and Castle returns on Wednesday 7th September in the same slot. |

Brilliant news it was always a really crappy show, opening boxes and trying and failing hard to inject passion and drama into it was always going to fail.
And the contestants were simply the vilest chavviest losers ever to appear on screen. |

Secrets of the SAS sounds promising and should be the sort of factual 5 should be doing as well as the nature shows like Loch Lomond |

I do think 5 need to axe some of the deadweight like Suspects and Borderline and start afresh with drama and comedy. Phasing out the benefit shows would help as well but keep the popular factual hits like Can't Pay, GPs etc

Looks like more good programming from Channel 5. I'll be tuning in.
I thought the Criminal Minds spinoff was a bit of an - err - suspect buy for 5USA. I mean, It's 5 years old and didn't get a second season! I'm sure it'll rate okay but unless it cost peanuts it was probably worth investing in something a bit more worthwhile. |

I have to disagree. Suspects and Borderline are brilliant, and underrated shows.
Looking at what's on the schedule, I could see 5 going for Timeless, This is Us which I liked the trailer might be more suited for Channel 4 or BBC Two rather than 5 |

Neither are rating well and IMO the money could be spent on commissioning something that could be a hit.

They're burning off the last episode of Suspects at 11pm so perhaps that tells its own story.

Suspects 5.1 consolidates to 1,050,000 via 7 day data (Channel 5 total)
Borderline 1.1 consolidates to 700,000 via 7 day data (Channel 5 total) |

There's 6 episodes in Season 5 and only 5 Wednesdays in August.....
Dramas are there to rate. If they don't rate, they have no future. They are too expensive to just be vanity projects that merely exist in the schedule. So I expect this will be the last series of Suspects, as even prior to the unfortunate clash with a big Olympics moment this week, it was badly struggling. |

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37130769 Axed shows should only be ones that dont even make it to the end of their 1st series without being taken off air or moved to a later time slot |

What's your point? No reason it couldn't have run into September, that I know of.

I might also add, only Season 4 rated badly. Season 5 is up on Season 4. |
