Glad to hear it! Even the notion of that being on the screen

Just under two million for its two showings.
Decent, although the lunchtime showing seems to do better, with 10 per cent of the audience, as BBC One and ITV are weaker in this slot. It seems Neighbours has a core audience, probably people who've watched since the eighties, that won't desert it, which is good news for Channel 5. The soap might have stopped being a talking point 20 years ago, but it's doing OK in its second home. I know Home and Away is weaker, struggling to get above a million, but this pairing of soaps is a genuine alternative to game shows, news and antiques.

That'll be my mum. Neighbours, Home And Away and occasional bits of The Wright Stuff is the only Channel 5 stuff she watches.

I see the Daily Mail is getting upset over SCD again. The story started in the Star and has also been in the Sun online.

I appreciate why the Mail feels protective to SCD but dear...

Jim Davidson is speaking in the Sunday People today, declaring women aren't funny and opposing the idea of Miranda Hart hosting a revival of The Generation Game. He says he'd like to produce a revival with Ant & Dec, Alan Carr or Bradley Walsh as host. Of course, Bradley has already hosted Keep It In The Family which was clearly an attempt by ITV to create their own version of the Gen Game. The fact that it flopped may have provide a warning shot across the BBC bows about bringing back their own prog.

Davidson also says he doesn't get Michael McIntyre but that might be more about his stand-up material rather than his presenting skills. Watching MM on his big show I think he would be good as host of The Generation Game. Or Rob Brydon, ill-served by the BBC with his sub-standard Blankety Blank-esgue series The Guess List.

On the other hand when Davidson was presenting Bog Break I used to think he would be good on the Generation Game, but when he got the gig I found him a bit disappointing as host. He struck me as a bit self-indulgent, filling the programme with his showbiz pals, and don't seem to be putting in much effort. He might argue he worked hard on the show but it wasn't the impression he gave me.

Except it really doesn't matter, because anybody wanting to watch IAC can use the new fangled invention of 'catch up'.

I honestly can't wait until X Factor finishes, mainly so that we can get the ratings thread back from the X Factor bashers.
Are people supposed to lie that its figures are good?

Yes, it's a premiere. Are you thinking of The Green Hornet?
Ah, that must have been it. Thanks.

Well no, you can't polish a turd.

I mean those known for despising X Factor and commenting on everything about it, including Simon Cowell's waistline (one of this years stranger complaints...).

When X Factor finishes, hopefully the constant running commentary about its dire state stops until next August.

Whatever happened to Jim Davidson ?

Kevin Lygo did say that he wishes it hadn't been axed. It probably will make a comeback at some point.
It wasn't axed. Torvill and Dean withdrew their labour and it was rightly decided that it wouldn't get the same audience without them. The same problem remains for any attempt to revive it. Until GB discovers another champion ice pairing it's just not going to happen.

Not scientific in the slightest, but ITV have just unveiled the trailer for The Voice on social media. To my surprise, the comments were overwhelmingly positive.

I think The Voice will do better than people are expecting.

They could use Coomes and Buckland (10th in Olympics) or go for the Americans who took gold. The Canadian pair came second and two other American pairs came 8th and 9th.

Whether any of them have great personalities I have no idea.

Facebook reaction is the one that matters. I'd say Twitter comes behind Instagram.

Lewie, I have added a few bits (in bold) to your list:

Spoiler
Brilliant Ray! Thank you.

Good to see how The Two Ronnies did. To this day I'll never understand why they put some series on BBC2 first. It wasn't until 1976 that it became a full time BBC1 show.

The Voice will do fine on ITV and do better than the last BBC1 series. What will happen when it clashes with Let It Shine on BBC1? Not long until we find out.
