GBBO peaked at 54.3% share so IAC didn't quite get there.
There's that 7.4m number again for XF. Saturday shows consolidate to around the same.

Strangers held up pretty well. I wonder if it consolidated to 5m.
Humans is a catch-up show for many. It's overnight suffers.

To think I'm a big fan of I'm A Celebrity but I don't recall the finals ever being on a Saturday! I think my memory is going with age

Highest final for three years, but notice when they ran two series in 2004, the show's peak, the second final was over 3 million down. IAC has stayed succesful by being limited to 21 nights a year, not sprawling across the schedules like TXF, and laughing at itself. I honestly can see this show running for as long as Ant and Dec want to present it and ratings stay high.

OTOH TXF just isn't happening and could end up with the lowest rating final since 2004. All the stunts and twists have been exhausted, the redtops are losing interest, and I reckon ITV could pare down next year's series as this is a very expensive show and sn't delivering. Also now ITV have TV, it's going to look like overkill with talent/reality shows next year.

I laughed out loud at the sheer bloody awfulness of that one!

Reminds me of the Tesco family christmas advert from the other year. I imagine we'll have a farting grandma ident on Christmas Night....

I saw one before the handover to BBC news channel which was around a bauble on a Christmas tree which I thought was quite nice actually.

Moving the final to Friday's was one of the stupidest things they ever did. Look how much the ratings fall compared to previous years. at 2007!

But then moving it to Saturday was a stroke of genius, given an X Factor lead-out at the height of it's popularity. But then this popularity soon declined... BOOM rises back up when shifted to Sunday

Interesting the first series final was on a Sunday, then wasn't again for another 11 years.

2007 was a low point for IAC, with ratings well down on previous seasons. I think there was a bit of a backlash against celebrity reality shows following the sheer nastiness of that year's CBB and trash like Love Island and Soapstar Superstar. Also 2008 was relatively low, I'm sure BBC One scheduled a series of Survivors against IAC that was pulling in over 5 million viewers.

Amazing for PE2, SCD and IAC.

Dire for XF it has to be said, you'd think it would be topping 7m in the officials at the least. Only a whisker ahead of The Apprentice.

Very strong for Corrie there, approaching 9m mark. EE and ED basically tied 2nd place soaps now.

Fantastic for IAC final, Strictly and Planet Earth last night. X Factor did OK but next week isn't going to do much better for the final. I could see 7m maximum.

that's exactly what they don't need to do. This series was perfect, the most enjoyable in years and its positive vibe was a ratings tonic. Viewers don't flock to aggression, conflict and nasty individuals, as Big Brother's demise showed. IAC's ratings clearly demonstrate it isn't broke and doesn't need fixing...certainly not by casting 'awkward characters'.

IAC remarkably consistent from Monday to Saturday. All that talk of those days dropping and it starting too late after XF was clearly overdone. Catch-up was higher as was always likely.

Corrie not far from 9m which suggests there's life in the old dog yet. Not a terrible rating for Strangers but I thought it'd top 4.5m; it still did better than Ordinary Lies. Good weeks for Casualty and Holby. H will be thrilled with the Chase touching 4m.

Well done BBC The Missing! And great to see BBC PE2 is the biggest show on TV.
Dire rating for MM - failing to beat the Ex Factor....

Agree that is dire for XF. It should at least be hitting 7m (as most of the live shows have). It's been an odd series really. A great run of auditions but some bizarre choices at judges houses caused problems for the live shows, which have been fun and well produced but lacked standout talent. They've actually wound up with one of the better lineups for the final they've had, but they've had to slowly filter out a lot of dross to get there. They've got the panel right, but there's only so much they can do when the talent isn't there.

Plenty of positives to take away from the series I think, but a lot for them to learn from it as well.

The quality of contestants was much better compared to the reality trash that dominated last year though still that's where a winner came from.

People will watch, rows or not. You cannot compare it with BB in anyway shape or form.

Well that's the issue isn't it. The lack of talent this series was palpable.
Some of that can be blamed on the judges though with their strange choices.
Let's not forget Sara had been dumped from the show and she now has every chance to win.
Next series they should scrap the novelty acts and try and get the publicity through the talent on show.
