I think Takeaway is actually in a better place now than it was then and on the day itself I think could tap into a good chunk of that casual audience. It won't happen, for a number of reasons, but it could work.

Well if Cold Feet s renewed, an Autumn schedule of big drama on Sunday, Cold Feet and Doc Martin coud make ITV have a pretty strong schedule each day.

Another BBC scheduling change - this one on Sunday morning. After the mammoth ratings for last Sunday morning's Olympics Replay on BBC2 (29% share), this Sunday it is on BBC1 (9.05-12.45). Sunday Morning Live, Homes Under the Hammer and Bargain Hunt move to BBC2.

I'm a way seems a bit daft when there's been 15 of these Replay programmes - all starting at 9.15am on BBC2 and then the 16th and final one moves channel and time.

It's Not Me It's You has slowly got better each week, hopefully Channel 5 give it a second series in a better slot.

Does seem ridiculous, especially as there have been bigger overnight schedules than this Saturday.

They do seem to be making scheduling decisions up on a day by day basis though with no consistancy on what they will do in any set of circumstances.

If they wanted to get every last drop out of the Olympics on BBC1 I wonder why they've axed the Olympics highlights show that was due to air at 9pm on Sunday, replacing it with a run of the mill Fake or Fortune.

Despite this, BBC2 still came on air at 10:30 so is currently simulcasting with BBC1 rather than airing a filler Coast.

Channel 4 and BBC Two have had success with Humans, No Offence, Line of Duty and I think something of that calibre could work for 5.

Well, maybe it was, but I think it'll put some people off catching up with the first episode, especially as the first episode is an extended one.
I'm hoping the weather won't be too hot, as I've gone quite high for the 9pm shows on the Ratings Prediction Game, but it looks as though the weather is likely to be warm, so you'll have more people going away for the Bank Holiday weekend than if it was wet and windy.

EastEnders has taken a few knocks on the August Bank Holiday, even when the weather has been pretty ordinary.
Probably used all their Coast cutdowns the other night.

This year the bank holiday falls on the first day of the last week of school holidays. Si it isnt unfeasible to imagine people being on holiday. Last year it was on 31st so kids went back to school two days later.

Perhaps even the BBC believe the myth that many viewers find it difficult to press a button and go to BBC2 ?

With the higher than expected numbers the past two weeks, in hindsight should this have been the BBC One schedule?

My understanding is MOTD can be shown on BBC2 but just seen as a BBC1 show due to cost. I do not think it's in the contract, and has been on 2 before.

I would have moved the 1 pm news to 12 noon, regional news 12.30 and then have the games live at 12.45, BBC2 could simulcast the News channel at 1 pm.

Problem is we can all say this in hindsight, no one could predict how well GB would do, or when any sport final will be on, and if GB in it, moving the Ten news us dangerous as ITV could start moaning about news at when. People like Whittingdale would say, the BBC can move it.

Hm. Bit underwhelming for the hockey. Was thinking 10m at peak but unlikely if the average was only 5.5m.

I wouldn't have put the replay on BBC1 as it is a repeat at the end of the day.

I would have been more flexible with EastEnders, scheduling it based on that day's schedule. It shouldn't really have been scheduled slap bang in the middle of major medal events. They have no issue with moving the day/time during football events.

MOTD1 should probably have stayed as it did on BBC1 but MOTD2 and Countryfile could have been on BBC2 in the first place.

And they wouldn't do anyway as its just a completely made up scenario just in a few people's heads. An excuse to make a dig at ITV when they aren't even anything to do with the matter at hand.

So Ch5 are returning to Big Brother despite the poor ratings. Big mistake I think. Just let it go.

Are you talking about the regular series? Why would they "let it go"?

I don't think "poor" ratings is fair considering that it managed to beat the last 2 years and the first C5 regular series, despite being up against the biggest competition. The 2nd half of the series did extremely well.

Big Brother has had a fantastic year in terms of ratings with the January series getting 2.8m, the regular series being highest since 2013 and this series beating the previous two summer celebrity series.

Like to see how other shows on 3,4 and 5 do up against Euro's, Olympics etc... oh, we know how they did, they are flopping harder than BB.

I don't think 2.2m (1.7m overnights) is too shabby for a C5 show up against the Olympics.

If that's the case, maybe ITV should get rid of 60% of their programming considering CBB has been beating ITV this summer. ITV should be the people feeling embarrassed that they are getting lower ratings than an inferior channel.

C5 should ditch a series that regularly performed well? Sounds like an intelligent decision.
