I don't think "poor" ratings is fair considering that it managed to beat the last 2 years and the first C5 regular series, despite being up against the biggest competition. The 2nd half of the series did extremely well.

Big Brother has had a fantastic year in terms of ratings with the January series getting 2.8m, the regular series being highest since 2013 and this series beating the previous two summer celebrity series.

Like to see how other shows on 3,4 and 5 do up against Euro's, Olympics etc... oh, we know how they did, they are flopping harder than BB.

I don't think 2.2m (1.7m overnights) is too shabby for a C5 show up against the Olympics.

If that's the case, maybe ITV should get rid of 60% of their programming considering CBB has been beating ITV this summer. ITV should be the people feeling embarrassed that they are getting lower ratings than an inferior channel.”

The civilian series was very good and performed well outside of love island and footie clashes, it picked up after but ch5 decided to finish prematurely. They dont have a clue.

Cbb has been poor and will only get worse with the cross promotion of there other shows. This years obsession with bear been so ott and has ruined it for many.

This CBB has not been great I agree, but my post was regarding the ratings, where it has done exceptionally well against the Olympics.

The civilian series was very good.

Interesting, very similar to last week. Held up much more against the Olympics than Man Down did, which got 500k I think.

Certainly wasn't boring. Just tremendous sport. GB were played off the park at times, but grit determination and well............balls! got them through.

As well as proper funding and brilliant competitors, there is a spirit which is lifting us even higher.

Personally I struggle with the Taekwando a bit as a spectacle. Im not sure where it sits in the martial arts world-but Bruce Lee it aint.

Wonder how Sky's first Friday Night Football fared? Top raters Man U playing but a very BARB unfriendly long slot.

You can't just add together two ratings when they are different time slots

That does tend to happen with +1

There was a simulcast period though-I presume that's what the total applies to .

I didn't realise it rated that high, but then again, 6 million seems very high these days.

I know the argument about putting it against Strictly, but given the option, I would watch Takeaway.

I see BBC 1's only concession to Bank Holiday Monday is the feature film Thor: The Dark World which pushes the news back to 2215.

According to The Times Magazine's interview with Piers Morgan today, over 1m are "scrambling to their remotes" each morning and tuning into Good Morning Britain since he joined. Quote: "The itv demographic love him."

I'm talking about the regular series, not CBB. And anyway, Big Brother is Ch5's biggest and most expensive show, so comparing it to rpt's on ITV, isn't really a fair comparison.

Compare it to TXF or IAC, ITV's biggest shows. If ITV put effort in against the Olympics (i.e. Brief Encounters - 4m) they can get solid ratings for Summer.

Even Dancc was saying he was sure C5 would ditch the regular series. But clearly it'll just prattle on until there is 1 viewer left.

Except more people watched GMB before Piers joined. And the BBC Breakfast audience went up when Susanna left. BBC Breakfast has been pushing 1.7 million during the Olympics, more than three times GMB.Talk about deluded.

Which should mean both Victoria and this film can do well. BBC1 will attract younger viewers, and ITV will take the older audience

BBC1's Saturday night is screwed because
Spoiler
Tom Daley has failed to qualify for the diving final.
.

In a change to the BBC1 schedule National Lottery Five-Star Family Reunion replaces the Olympics at 8pm.
Spoiler
Not really.
Spoiler
or maybe they will.

But 1 million not all at once. As Piers said about Olympic competitors, if you don't come first you're a loser.

I've just read the interview, that quote was about 'Britiain's Got Talent' not GMB. You were very selective when choosing your quotes weren't you?
