If I hadn't lived and breathed TNF over the past few days I wouldn't have noticed either. Osi probably flies home to NY for local media work. He should be on NFL Network or ESPN soon as he's fun. Imagine him on Soccer Saturday with Jeff; we don't have enough lively pundits sadly.

Half the people I worked with regularly watched American TV and films off the naughty net. This is how I went 10 months and had never heard of Broadchurch till I stumbled on to it on ITV Encore.

A lot of people just watched TV off this...

It's basically "I've not heard of, or don't personally like, these people, therefore it must be rubbish".

The success of a chat show or any panel show is nothing to do with the level of fame, or otherwise, of the guests. If they're really famous and say absolutely nothing of interest, so what? It's not worth them being there. Judge them on the contribution they make to the show, not on their name. I found Grayson Perry's appearance very worthwhile, he said lots of interesting things and in general it is quite interesting to have someone like that on a primetime chat show. And it's especially important on Norton where it's all about the blend of guests, where they all get on together and spark off each other. I thought this week's guests did that especially well, it was a well-chosen and interesting line-up. The worst episodes of Norton have been when they've had very famous guests and they've contributed bugger all.
”

Try telling that to many in this thread and across this forum who regularly say Graham Norton is the best since sliced bread because he has a line up of Hollywood A listers, regardless of how weak the anecdotes might be, and regularly says Ross is rubbish because he 'only' has british tv and music stars on.

In any case that line up of Graham Norton was notably less Hollywood A list than usual, there's always one show a series that is like that. There is also sometimes at least one show that he records in an earlier week to give him a week off mid run, so there is no 'topical gag' at the start, there may be a link.

Personally I prefer a slightly more B list line up as the procession of the same Hollywood names promoting whatever is the big film that week gets a bit samey.

I'm not so sure. I watched PE live, now whizzing through TXF skipping the adverts.

So true, Netflix, semi legal downloads, Firesticks, seem all the rage among the under 40s and not always this age group. I doubt many people under 50 now plan their viewing around the two main channels as would have happened as late as 15 years ago. Programmes like CS, The Chase and Emmerdale have their following, but they seem to be increasingly elderly.

Just finished the last two episodes of The Missing. It really was so much better than the first series. Every scene had a purpose and it all fitted together without major plot holes.

As a location nerd, I found out the main German town was Malmedy in Belgium and the Swiss town was Monschau in Germany, just a 37 minute drive away!!

Watching two hours a night for four days is a perfect viewing experience.

Wife not bothering with SCD tonight as she knows who went. Now spinning through XFactor

The absolute worst one was when they premiered that lame sitcom 'Mumbai Calling' after the huge 2009 BGT final (a lead out of 19m viewers!) It got around 4...

Causing controversy as well.

Apparently one of the final two - Matt Terry - was given the song from the John Lewis advert, which just so happened to be played FOUR times during ITV's breaks before he performed it!

No prizes for guessing what Syco's preferred outcome is this year.

Wonder if you come up with such ridiculous conspiracy theories for Big Brother.
Oh wait, of course not.

You really can't trust the British public to vote on anything these days.

Yet another bland male (who will quickly fade into oblivion) winning is not good for the show.

Not hard to be cynical about that song choice, to be fair.

It's really not remotely ridiculous to suggest he was handed a major advantage. And he duly obliged for them, so job done.

I'm not so sure it was! The guy in question did win and Cowell's congratulations wasn't the most enthusiastic I've ever seen and Louis didn't even attempt to look pleased.

I see X Factor have a Christmas song as the winners single after last years single flopped and made it no way near No.1. This years song has a better chance of getting the No.1.

It was pretty obvious that this was the outcome Simon was wanting, but Matt is still pretty good.

That tired old idea rang true last year and in many others but it's a bit embarrassing to suggest this year was one-sided, at least not in the final.

But we all know where your agenda lies, so I'll leave it at that.

Dan just stop being so aggressive.

Anybody with a bit of bloody sense can see Matt was put forward to win.

The 'wrong winner, bad for the show' posts have been pre written and the correct one just pasted in.

If Saara had won there would be posts saying how it was bad that a non Brit had won.

At this stage of the proceedings we know that every single thing about the show is picked up on and used against it, as its now fashionable to do so.

All reality/talent shows can be accused of pushing a winner, by what song or dance they get, where in the show they appear, or what stays left in the edit, but it's only picked up on shows that people want to give a good kicking.

Which explains why Saara had the favourable performance slots for many weeks including the final? And why they let her performances be on par with, often better, than Matt's?

Like I said, people roll out this sort of comment every year, in some years it rings very true but not this year to the same extent.

Agree with the first line. Don't necessarily agree with the second, they've been pushing Saara quite hard for the last few weeks. I don't think they'll be particularly unhappy but I think several of the main players would have preferred a Saara win.

The middle of the road white male winning isn't particularly shocking, unfortunately. He's talented but not my preferred winner at all.

A boring winner for what was a boring series. He even has a boring full name.

Agree, people were poised over their keyboards ready to give it a good kicking regardless of the outcome.
Shame really.
