Thanks lewi. Countryfile peaks at 9.6m at 7.15pm before SCD starts. Well no wonder its rating is so inflated. BBC have got their sschedule spot on.

Whereas OTR was given a slot in the one of the highest rating months of the year, despite being a real stinker now. Magician and OTR should never see the light of day again. ITV can do better in those slots, just need to be more bold with programmes and scheduling. If you put missable LE in that slot, what do you expect.

SCD did very well last night, but faced very little competition, and has done for years.

So this year had the least drop since 2013, and the second-least overall. The share also only dropped by a very insignificant amount. That is despite it facing far stronger competition this year for much of the live shows.

Oh cut out the exaggerations.
And you know it's not bringing in the ad revenue how? Oh wait, you don't. Simon will have made miles more off this series of XF than you will ever make as an annual salary!

The show seems to be all about Nicole. A diabolical series with less viewers than last years shambles.”

Never knew you had better performance skills than Little Mix, Charlie Puth, Kylie and Madness.

Well you could also argue that SCD could be 'done and dusted' in 30 minutes or less but then you don't complain about that do you. Bet you don't complain about guest stars and other features like this on SCD - that's because you know, deep down, that there's more to a show than rushing performance after performance without soul or friendliness. It's just another cheap way to attack XF.

BIU No exaggeration. It is across the board. If the share was the same then yes you could say that the audience everywhere has reduced but it hasn't, has it?

BIBThanks for the insult Dan. Really appreciate it. I can always count on you to make me and other posters feel a lot better in the festive period.

Week 2 of Lip Sync Battle UK is Alexander Armstrong v Jimmy Carr. Should be fun!

The series has been cut to 4 episodes though from the planned 7 - read into that what you will.

How did Lip Sync Battle rate over its run (didn't follow its ratings)? I really enjoyed it.

Edit - just looked on BARB:
08/01 - 2.35m
15/01 - 2.28m
22/01 - 1.88m
29/01 - 1.62m
05/02 - 1.56m
12/02 - 0.96m

The BB lead in obviously helped. Just looked on Wikipedia; Katie Price v Ben Fogle?! Crikey, two people you'd never put together

What's even sadder than all of us making nowhere near the amount Simon Cowell makes Dan is that your constant defence of him. For what exactly? Nothing, absolutely nothing.

There's no need to address or make comments about me. I'm making an observation on a TV programme.

Although it's worth remembering that Corrie was getting 8m overnights under Phil Collinson which wasn't that long ago.

It's nice to see it perking up a bit though.

That's probably their best coup since Walliams v Dixon, wonder how bad 3 of those episodes are if they're not showing them as part of series 2

Officials inc. +1:
2.54m / 2.48m / 2.06m / 1.84m / 1.62m / 1.09m

The last episode had no CBB support and the one prior to that went out at 11pm after the CBB final, but obviously a negative that it lost viewers throughout. Still think there's a lot of potential with this format though.

BIB Why?

I can't say there is much there that interest me. I like watching nature/vet series, so only the Penguin one I might watch, But I can't stand Lorraine Kelly.

That's odd. Did they film all 7 still or did they cancel the recordings? A bit odd, clearly they don't feel confident in it away from CBB. Perhaps the other 3 (if made) will turn up with the Summer series of CBB.

Aren't there still 2 unaired episodes from the first series too? I swear they filmed 8 but only aired 6.

I think Penguin A&E will probably be similar to Dog Rescuers where she'll just narrate and do the intro and outtro

Maybe they're keeping the rest of the Battle series to air during the second 2017 series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Nice to see ITV start off the New Year with a YBF rpt. That's what I like to see.

On Tuesday 3rd, ITV look a bit stronger on the Tuesday and should do relatively well, IF they promote POG dogs. Otherwise it'll be under 3m. The 9pm slot looks like under 2m to me.

The Halycon should provide SW with a bit more como, though whether it can hold its own, I have no idea.

Thursday is interesting. The 8pm show will either be 2-3m or 4m+. I'm pretty sure health series do well in the Nwe Year after Christmas. At 9pm is Unforgotten against DIP. The trailer for Unforgotten isn't very grabbing though. It doesn't have any pull for me.

Here it is below. See what you think:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQV81dqu57Y

It just doesn't have that: 'I must watch that' feel to it.

Its going to fascinating to see what ITV do on the weekends. I hope they are not as predictable as I think they'll be.

I think they could have done a better job of that Unforgoten trailer. I'm sure the show itself will be good (the first series was) but that trailer doesn't sell it all that well which is a shame.

Am I a BBC basher now? I've had many accusations thrown at me on these forums over the years but never that

It's mainly disgusting the way they dismiss the idea, the infamous "it's a family show" comment in particular. The BBC as a PSB should have no reservations about breaking with 'tradition' and it's one of the few instances where I agree they put ratings above the quality of their output, but I guess it's their choice.

Sounds great Xander's singing appearances on TV have always been serious so far so it'll be good to see him let his hair down (or indeed put it up, should his chosen song require that )

Fox have advertised Taboo so much I feel like I've seen the first episode. I'm not keen on the idea of it following Casualty, I would rather it was the drama or the night.

Disappointing but predictable seeing Pointless Celebrities on in the 6slot. They're leaving LIS on an island and saying this is your big LE show on a Saturday night in January.
85 minutes is close to a 110 minute show on ITV which seems a little long.

* includes +1 for XF comparisons from 2011 onwards”

Thanks to Hassaan for this list and lewie for posting in on here.

Truly fascinating stuff.

XF concluded as I expected. With PEII in the way for the first hour, it was never going to match last years 8.4m. The series average isn't too bad in hindsight given how the lives have rated but it can't afford to slip any further (although it obviously will). I'd keep the same panel and Dermot and work harder next year on putting through the right acts to the live shows.

Strictly really hitting it's stride now. 11.0m for it's result show. I really hope the final can do a high number on Saturday. Surely 11.5m isn't unrealistic now?

Planet Earth II concluded with another decent number. What an epic series and fully deserving of the ratings its been getting (and somehow those XF results shows held up remarkably well against it - could have been much worse).

Also - can we start a campaign to get Hassaan back on this forum?! He's missed massively and this kind of data is excellent for this thread.
