Latest schedules show that the EE will remain on BBC One during the Olympics, with coverage moving to BBC Two at those times as well as for the news. Surprising decision imo.

Containment (E4): 0.34m (1.8%) Hell's Kitchen (ITV2): 0.24m (1.3%) Huge 45% drop in the overnights for Containment. You're always going to get a dropoff post-pilot, but that seems alarmingly high, especially as E4 imports tend to hold up quite well normally. And not too clever for Hell's Kitchen either, although it's probably the most tired show on TV so has done well to sustain a solid audience for 14 seasons given it plays out pretty much exactly the same every year. |

It is indeed the same (I could go the rest of my life without seeing scallops cooked ever again) with minor tweaks and is hopelessly stagey and contrived but thanks to Ramsey's overcommitment as Bastard-In-Charge it remains never less than watchable although ITV do their damnedest to ruin it with the number of ad-breaks and why only one ep a week for this run?

Not surprising at all, there will be millions of viewers who have no interest in the Olympics. I wonder if the BBC will be running information films about ''How to switch to BBC2'' as some viewers still seem to have difficulty.

In other words, you have no idea. Sportsmen & Women whose pinnacle in their sport is The Olympics are nearly all going. They won't wait another 4 years unless born in Russia of course. |

Seems a bit messy to leave EE at its usual times and move Olympics coverage to BBC2 for just half an hour, particularly as on Tuesday and Thursday it will be moving after only being on half an hour after the news.
I'm surprised they didn't move EE to a consistent daily slot, such as 9:30pm so the schedule would be the same each day. Moving it every day to 8pm would be slightly better as well. |

Of course they haven't. Belle is known to have mental health problems which involve her hearing voices.
![]() Early days, I just hope this is a little blip and things will improve, lets hope the Belle storyline is over sooner rather than later. |

Hard to begrudge EastEnders, Match of the Day, and apparently, Countryfile staying on BBC One during the Olympics.
2012 was the only occasion EastEnders got shunted to BBC Two, so that was very much the exception to the rule. |

I bet ITV2 show it with less ad breaks than it was intended to be shown with.

That said, though London was the first time EE had been bumped - I wouldn't bet on it being the last. These days, if major athletics & swimming finals were on primetime, they would certainly bump it. We had conversations a few weeks ago around Wimbledon and the Euros about how much more prestige they attach to major sporting events now. |

According to The Sun, ITV are planning to air Tapla's Dance, Dance, Dance in "early 2017".

My reaction to the extra C/S was negative because its just blocking the schedule with the same old same old, but realistically its just attempting maintain share and make money using the most user friendly genre. I find it difficult to detach the pre satellite ITV from today, but it shouldn't really matter what ITV churns out on block because there are so many other options for viewing-they are just part of a much bigger picture. That said I still think BBC should be able to compete in all genre. |
