I agree with you but if it is a bit like Tipping Point, maybe it won't.

When I saw it advertised during an NBC break, I didn't think of ITV, it actually made me think of BBC and a lottery type of show.

Having briefly looked at the listings, if I were them, I'd be keeping quiet 😁

Weak! Weak! Weak! Weak! Weak!

BBC1 risk Sherlock having his ratings dented by giving Endeavour a 1 hour head start.”

Sherlock attracts different demos to Endeavour, younger and more ABC1.

Sunday night is the most watched night of the week and Midwife and Planet Earth show just how many viewers there are to be netted. (So, come to that, does Strictly). Roadshow's ratings look great until you compare it with other programmes in the same slot and now I'm no longer impressed.”

Don't agree with any of this really.

You can't have the monsters like Planet Earth on every Sunday of the year. No channel has the luxury of having so many hits, certainly not enough to fill 52 Sundays.

You could say CTM's ratings aren't impressive compared to PE couldn't you if you use your logic?

Yes they are already showing their film promo.

Agree - although on the surface they might seem similar, the contrasting styles & tones of Endeavour & Sherlock mean that they will attract largely different demographics. I think that's a nice bit of complimentary scheduling.

She'll have to live off all those taxes she evaded. My heart bleeds for her.

Thanks Ray.

That 22 Jump Street premiere tanked on Channel 5. Expected at least a million. BBC2 and Channel 4 had good nights. Although Citizen Khan was on BBC2 at 8.30 last night in some regions.

ITV don't seem to have trailed Midsomer Murders on Sunday, so I wouldn't be surpised if it was under 4m as viewers think its a rpt.

ITV might have waved a white flag against SCD tonight, but they are trying to appeal to different demographic with the male skewing films. SCD skews old and female, so its makes sense to go for the male audience.

I think though, they should have put two LOTR back to back, and not a random The Hobbit film.

Why do you keep insisting on pushing this 'BBC One appeals to old people' thing? I am not old by any stretch and the BBC appeals far more to me than the content 'on the other side'.

BBC Strictly will do brilliantly tonight. The BBC will provide a bumper final. I am predicting 12m at least. BBC Michael Mc will do well too with 7m I expect.

Well when you look at the age demos for SCD, despite its size, it has less 16-24 year olds than The Jonathan Ross Show under 4m.

The main bulk of its audience from demos posted on here are older viewers. I think it was 50%+ were 65+.

I didn't say SCD doesn't have younger viewers. It clearly does But it doesn't have that many for its size.

BIB Well if you are biased to the BBC, I think its kind of obvious.

I think it will be

SCD 11.5m
MM 6.7m

The Hobbit 2.2m

...but you are implying that anyone over 25 is old which obviously isn't the case. Millions watch the BBC because the quality and variety is all there.
