They're changing the streaming ratio next year so it'll be interesting to see what that does.

In an effort to get back on topic... I saw a trailer for The Lion King during The Chase today. Channel 4 have moved The Last Leg to 9pm tonight, good move I think. BIB Good to see they are giving it some promotion.

Ch4 and running programming into the ground is a match made in heaven.

Little Mix and Olly Murs were in the top 10 in the albums as well.”

Syco didn't sign up Matt Terry, he ended up with Sony RCA. As for Saara, she didn't go directly to Syco too but went to Sony.

Curiously the only act that Syco took was HoneyG.

I'm sure Pointless hit 4.5m for the Children in Need special in 2013 - ITV were showing The Paul O Grady Show at the time. The Chase got 4.3m in January 2013 when we had snow. I'm not sure if either have been any higher than that recently.”

I recall one occasion in January 2013 were The Chase hit 5m.

Good to hear. Glad ITV recognise it's brilliance and are promoting it. Should do around 4m, against Frozen.

Christmas predictions then? I still haven't placed a bet because I keep changing my mind lol

Personally I think it will be Bake Off vs. Frozen! Mrs Brown's Boys is on quite late this year, so I can't see it topping the night.

In fact I'll be bold and do a top 10 prediction:

01. Bake Off - 7.4m
02. Frozen - 7.2m
03. Mrs Brown's Boys - 6.2m
04. Corrie - 6m
05. Strictly - 6m [I think they'll be very close, could be the other way round]
06. Eastenders - 5.7m
07. Call The Midwife - 5.6m
08. Doctor Who - 5.6m
09. Emmerdale - 5.5m
10. Maigret - 5.1m

Thanks for all the entries so far! Almost everyone going the same with #4 and #7 though - oops, may have messed up there. Did try to make it as challenging as possible.

Its going to be a very exciting time for ratings. I do love this time, we are all waiting on the 25th December at 9.32am......waiting for that first rating, which will decide how this Christmas TV week will shape up.

I can't really see Blankety Blank doing all that much at all. I suspect it'll get lost at that time on ITV.

And given Pointless got 3.9m last year in a 7pm slot, Blankety Blank has no chance. Should have kept it on Christmas Day, or Boxing Day in between episodes of Corrie.

6.30pm Emmerdale
7pm Coronation Street
7.30pm Blankety Blank
8.30pm Coronation Street
9pm Captain Phillips

Would have at least stregthened Boxing Day a bit more, and given it a better slot. Still....a bit late now.

When I think of some of the acts I liked in the 2000s, who had moderate Top 40 success, I don't think they'd have had Top 40 singles if the charts had been compiled the way they are now.

It's the reverse of adding DVD sales to the BARB ratings.

I'm currently watching TOTP 1982 (currently playing Rio by Duran Duran) and, okay I'm that old guy telling kids to get off his lawn but the difference between then and now is...... !

But then we only had snippets of music on TV in those days and now they have it all so... progress I suppose.
