Given how Peter Kay rates in repeats, it's no surprise he doesn't do much new stuff.

My guess for the competition:

Xmas Eve
1. A. Pointless: Christmas (BBC One, 6:30pm)
2. A. Birds of a Feather (ITV, 8pm inc. +1)
3. B. 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (C4, 9pm exc. +1)
4. B. Grantchester (ITV, 9pm inc. +1)

Xmas Day
5. B. The Great Christmas Bake Off (BBC One, 4:45pm)
6. B. Maigret's Dead Man (ITV, 9pm inc. +1)
7. A. Doctor Who (BBC One, 5:45pm)
8. A. Home Alone (C4, 6pm exc. +1)
9. A. Strictly Come Dancing (BBC One, 6:45pm)
10. B. EastEnders (BBC One, 9:30pm)

Boxing Day
11. A. How to Train Your Dragon 2 (BBC One, 4:30pm)
12. B. Witness for the Prosecution (BBC One, 9pm)
13. A. Still Open All Hours (BBC One, 8:30pm)
14. B. Big Fat Quiz of the Year (C4, 9pm exc. +1)

Looking forward to the ratings tomorrow. I think Granchester could shock us and bring in a very good figure where as I have a feeling the Shirley bassey programme is going to bomb! Anywhere else, it would be lucky to get three million and I see it not getting much more than that tonight. I hope MM big show does well.

Grantchester doing well well wouldn't be a shock. The Shirley Bassey tribute doing well would be a shock. Not interested in it at all. Ball & Boe, Buble and the rest. These music tributes have me rushing to change channel. Put them all on BBC2 or in the Sign Zone late at night. If Michael McIntyre's Big Show gets a good rating opposite Coronation Street and Birds Of A Feather that would be another shock.

I wonder how Shirley Bassey would take being put in the sign zone

Sky's big Christmas Day offerings Jungle Book and Last Dragonslayer already available to watch, so any early downloads won't be picked up by BARB.

Merry Christmas everyone. Thought all the main 4 made an effort last night which is good to see but means I expect much canceling out of each other in overnight ratings terms.

Saw the first bit and last bit of the Bassey show. Looked bigger and better than I thought bit wonder if people would have expected that before viewing? Could do better than expected. Seen a few comments on it in my social media circle which I didn't expect. So we'll see. That said I'd be surprised if anything other than EE and CS much cleared 5m.

He should be done for being lazy - either do the show or don't or face a ban.
A ban? For what exactly? It's not a bannable offense.

Oh, and Merry Christmas! I don't celebrate it but... It's still Christmas!

Looks like ITV's offerings did dismally.

Great rating for Michael McIntyre. Not great for EastEnders. Not sure what to make of that Peter Kay rating - I suppose it's not bad considering it was just a compilation.

Speaking of Peter Kay, why didn't they do a Christmas special of Car Share? The ratings for it were pretty good - I'm surprised they've not got a Christmas special out of it.
It has been stated that, due to filming inside the car, they can only film when there is ample daylight (i.e. in the Summer). I guess that trying to kid everyone that they are driving to and from work in the Winter when the trees and shrubs are in full leaf and people are in summer clothing would be too much

Eastenders beaten by Michael McIntyre? I'm getting worried it's not going to do well.

Merry Christmas everyone....just hope The Queen doesn't win the day.

Dismal, blankety blank must have bombed
That's a very low rating for Corrie

Wow, those are very low (even allowing for the lack of HD and +1).

I know, pretty shocking to be honest. That Corrie rating is dismal. I thought granchester would do much better than that
