In fairness Corrie was a bit schmaltzy and fake with the contrived snow ending. Could they miss the top 10? Disappointing for Birds, I couldn't stop laughing!

Has Michael McIntyre beaten Corrie? That's a result for him.
The Lady In The Van is rating of the day. Very good figure. Merry Christmas

Dismal, blankety blank must have bombed
That's a very low rating for Corrie People moan about ITV not bothering; when they do people don't bother to tune in anyway. Fantastic for McIntyre, brilliant for The Lady in the Van, pretty poor for EastEnders and Coronation Street. In hindsight neither soap should have aired last night. |

Wow, those are very low (even allowing for the lack of HD and +1).

They don't include shows starting before 7pm IIRC but it doesn't look promising does it?

It has been stated that, due to filming inside the car, they can only film when there is ample daylight (i.e. in the Summer). I guess that trying to kid everyone that they are driving to and from work in the Winter when the trees and shrubs are in full leaf and people are in summer clothing would be too much

Grantchester should have stayed on Boxing Day. Wasn't the right fit for last night. I thought it might be around there. Surprised at how low Birds looks though.

I'm disappointed for ITV, they had a good schedule, put effort in and it hasn't paid off at all. They'll not bother at all next year. A tip - spread the programmes out over a few days.
BBC 1 was solid, not spectacular. Oh we're in for some disappointing ratings today I think. Wonderful rating for The Lady in the Van, I hoped that would do well and it has! Bear Hunt did really well too, looking at that 3m figure, I think that possibly dented Corrie. |

So ITV's tactic of plonking everything on Christmas Eve failed. What were they playing at? Viewing looks more spread than usual with some very good numbers for Channel 4 and BBC Two.

I think even though it was Christmas Eve, it was more so still a Saturday Night.
Appalling figures for ITV. Let's hope they stop centering their Christmas schedule around Corrie and Birds of a Feather now. |

What was the original lineup for Christmas Eve - The Amazing Spiderman 2 took up most of the schedule didn't it? In hindsight they should have left well alone. |

Those ratings don't really bode well for tonight, do they? Christmas TV seems to be becoming less off a thing every year. Let's see.
Merry Christmas everyone! |

It was on once and not set pride of place on the day itself!Coronation Street yes but nothing else will do better. Even last night, when they put in an effort with light entertainment, drama and comedy, more people watched that than anything else. |

Absolutely dire figures for ITV. Why bother put effort in then? Clearly ITV's tactic of putting just a film on in the evening will pay off better, than specially commissioned programming.
I feel for them. After lining up their strongest sschedue, its gets beaten by BBC1 AGAIN |
