They definitely do, they signed a deal a couple of years ago for the rights to future Bond films and they show the older ones on ITV4.

Not sure I follow your logic. Why on earth would they do that?

I just find it disrespectful to show major films that defined an actor who had died on a repeat loop the day a death occurs that all. Decency in my book.

Does anyone have the figure for Robot Wars from last night, please?

Wow, I I had no idea those had been on ITV recently!

ITV could just stick Bond films on every Tuesday, it'd do better than their usual stuff.

I really don't follow your line of thinking, I would expect to see the films being shown rather than not being shown.

Spoiler
I can't say too much but the reason Miranda's name was dropped from the title was because she couldn't film her bits in time. She managed to film them in the end (as they didn't edit it in time) but they might end up with a different title now!
”

Interesting. It all seems a bit messy, when it was billed as Miranda Meets Morecambe and Wise it seemed like a decent enough New Year's Day offering, but now it's just a 2 hour clipshow which doesn't look like a particularly strong NYD offering at all, certainly not for 2 hours in the heart of primetime.

So are her bits going to be in it in the end or are they going to use them in another show later in the year? I've not seen it advertised at all, it sounds like it must have been quite a late commission given the last minute scrambling.

Do you have any daytime ratings for us rzt? Would be interesting to see if anything has changed ratings wise during the day over Christmas.

The New Year is upon us so it's time for a brand new season of the DS Ratings Prediction Game, now in it's 37th season!

Unlike the bumper schedules surrounding Christmas and New Year, this is a more sedate affair with only 20 programmes listed but that's not to mean the challenge is any less, with the switching Voice UK, new hope Let It Shine and drama The Halcyon joining returnees such as Silent Witness, Death in Paradise, Unforgotten and Endeavour in the line up.

So why not put your guesses on the line and have a go? Whether you're a regular player, lapsed competitor looking for a return or a DSRPG virgin, everyone is welcome! Simply click
HERE, left click 'Quotre', delete the 'Quote' marks and get predicting!

Thank you to everyone who takes part.

They ended up recording Miranda's links at her home instead of at a studio because she had to cancel some filming dates. Apparently it's now going to be called Miranda: Morecambe & Wise and Me. It was a late commission so it was a bit of a scramble for them. The original plan was to CG her into parts of some sketches (only at the top or at the end) but because of the above, they couldn't. Hence it was changed from "Miranda Meets..." to what they have now. We'll have to see what happens.

Mind you, a soap quiz managed 3m on New Year's Day last year. This should at least be around the same level, I reckon.

I notice the Radio Times website now reflects the new title. I wonder whether they'd have been better off just delaying it a little bit until it was actually ready rather than this last minute scramble. Miranda's involvement won't be mentioned in any of the listings magazines now. Although I'm not sure whether CGI-I got her into sketches would have really worked anyway.

I think it'll get around 3 million as the competition is very tough. If they had to show it this Christmas, it might have been worth swapping it with Maigret. M&W might have grabbed a reasonable casual audience on Christmas Day and I'm fairly sure Maigret would have done better on NYD, even against Sherlock.

The Miranda program should have been pushed back. It probably won't do very much in its slot.

An idea for ITV on Tuesdays would be to run dramas like Cilla and Mrs Biggs. Repeats, but would surely do better than factual.

Agreed - I am sick of them showing cheap crap - surely they have the money to splash the cash.

5.1m looks a bit underwhelming at first glance, but quite a few BBC One primetime programmes haven't got close to that over the last week, and I'm not sure any ITV programmes other than the two soaps have.”

I would say it's very respectable and given how drama timeshifts are going now it should easily go past 7m.

It's currently number two on iPlayer which is usually a good indication.

Nothing could touch Potter.

It always pulls in great demos and It's benefited from it's break from terrestrial TV and Fantastic Beasts.

Something that a channel could do though is try and get the rights to classic Christmas films such as Home Alone, Elf, Miracle on 34th Street, Polar Express etc and run them under a Christmas classics banner, one a day perhaps at a set time.

Did any regulars catch Charlie Brooker 2016 Wipe tonight on TWO? Absolutely ace was this review. Much more polished than previous years and loads to cram in...

How low do we think ED will go for tonight's 8:30pm showing? I don't see how it can possibly hold up in that slot.

Why not? It's only half an hour later than usual and sandwiched between two films.

Is ITV airing the final few films later to do with them being 12 in the age ratings compared to the earlier few not? Just a suggestion.

3.96m. Tonight was the night that ITV scheduled last when they already had their coats on.

Still funny but not as good as previous years. I was disappointed overall.
