I'm predicting a new series-launch low.

I'd be surprised if it even achieves 6m.

If ITV have The Force Awakens next year (which I think will be actually 2018), I would schedule it for NYD. And as you say schedule films leading up to the premiere - even though it wouldn't be in the right order.

But then they might also have Jurassic World and Spectre.

I would also use Harry Potter 1, 2 & 3 for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day daytime slots - as they were this year.

I think doing this again next year would be a bit much. But I think viewers take this an an event more than anything. Instead of showing a couple here and there, showing them every day leading up to NYD creates more of an event and viewers treat it as such. Its a bit like IAC in that respect.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Harry Potter outrate the Marvel film on BBC1.

The final film on NYE might only pull in 3.5-4m, but I think it will provide a better lead in to ITV News Years Eve programme.Much like the 2nd film did with The Queen.

At the start of last Friday’s The Blacklist (for it's midseason finale) on Sky Living, they announced it would be returning next year but on Sky1.

What an utterly bizarre decision. It probably does feel more like a Sky1 show but it's done exceptionally well on Friday night's over the years so a move to Sky1 in 2017 is rather peculiar indeed.

As you can see, it's been extremely consistent since it started so the move to Sky1 seems very unnecessary indeed.

Why are we getting excited about ITV having five live shows on Voice 2017? The BBC started with six live shows (which were royally slagged off on here), then cut it to three because the ratings were low.

Just watched episodes 4 (London Smog), 5 (Coronation) and 6 (Margaret) of The Crown. It's very good, you wonder what it'd get at 9pm on a Sunday.

I'm finding all of the outsiders coming off much better - Philip, Margaret, Edward and Simpson. The insiders and establishment are not looking so good, especially the Queen Mum.

It's very good. And rather tragic.

I'm interested to see what they've done with the format though and how it is scheduled. It won't be difficult for it to be an improvement year on year in the slots it gets, but it might be by a lot or just a little. I presume the live shows will be different to either of the BBC1 formats. The live shows are the weakest part of these talent shows these days though so it does seem an odd choice.

Is that an official or overnight series Average?

ITV did try running the Star Wars films in prime time a year or two ago and they rated very badly. They do still seem to pick up a decent share during an afternoon slot though. When the premieres of the new Star Wars films filter through to television, I'm sure they would do well in a prime slot.

Episode 9 is my favourite.

Serendipitous timing for Five's two Ken Dodd shows tonight - THREE hours of 'em!! Looking fairly pitiful at any other time, now it looks like Nostradamus does their scheduling!

hope the quality of last nights EE will drive NYD ratings, even if last nights is <6m.

Seems like its been a pretty lacklustre performance by BBC1 on the whole this Christmas period. At least they still have two of their biggest cards left to play - the fireworks tonight and Sherlock tomorrow.

It will be interesting if the awful Sherlock one off episode a year ago reduces viewing figures for the new season.

Seems unbelievably stupid to clash Sherlock and Endeavour next week especially seeing as neither has a repeat (FGS, why?!?).

The BBC seemed to misfire this Christmas based upon overnight figures, yet on paper they had what appeared to be a decent line up.
