We we know it was under 432k. Was it on Mix too? I assume not.
Nope it was just on SS1 and SS3/Darts. And yes, would guess its less than 432k. So probably unlikely to have broken a million combined.

From ITV Media:

Saturday 31 December:

Top 10: Other channels (inc. +1 where applicable):

1 BT Sport 1 - 05:00 PM Live Liverpool v Manchester City 1.134m 6.5%
Cheers Mr T.

That's a huge rating for BT. It did a lot of damage to the wrestling and Ninja on ITV.

Pointless creeping up each night, clearly benefiting from that later slot. It'll be interesting to see how that and The Chase did when they both returned yesterday.
Yesterday teatime...

Antiques Road Trip 2.59m
Final Score 1.03m
Tipping Point 2.85m

Pointless 4.17m
The Chase 3.73m

For years soaps or the media have thrown out the "multiple endings" line and for years it has nearly always been utter rubbish. I don't why people fall for it and see how it's logistically impossible.

If there were multiple endings where one was chosen at the last minute, that means everything filmed between the time the ending was filmed and the air date (what, 3 months worth?!) can't reference any of the "endings" specifically, making an aftermath impossible. Not to mention the stuff written (but not filmed) AFTER those yet-to-air episodes - which either again are vague as you like (meaning we are now probably talking 6 months material in total of filmed/written material) or the writers have written endless chains of scenarios to go with - not likely surely?

Surely this could only ever work if a show was to END and we were talking about a final scene.

I understand soaps have filmed various scenarios for a bit of fun for the fans and to put people off the scent of what will air up to the last moment. I remember Emmerdale did this 10 years ago showing about 8 people killing Tom King! But let's not pretend for one second that every time a soap does this that they don't know which ending they're going for. They ALWAYS know.
Very good point. I imagine the likes of Dallas and Dynasty did multiple endings at the end of their seasons.

Yep, probably around 950k again. Not bad but a tad disappointing with no soccer on against it. But it was up against a very big night on both BBC1 and itv.

1.6m watched the darts final on RTL7 in the Netherlands. That's the equivalent of about 6.5m people here.

Thanks

Excellent ratings there for the two quizzes. Despite Pointless having the advantage over TC.

8m watching ITV and BBC in the 5.30-6.30pm slot.

I think the England v Iceland got over 13m once you strip the pre-game show out of it.
Pretty shocked to see the XF in the 2016 top10.
Shows that won't make it next year...

GBBO
PE 2
Euro football (can't see the Confederations Cup doing much)
Happy Valley
Wimbledon possibly
Night Manager
Olympics
Attenborough

I'm not sure if 2017 will see a War and Peace, Marcella or Cold Feet. Clearly the BBC have more to replace than itv.

Brilliant again, Lewie.

ITV are seriously going to need to get their finger out this year with figures in the top 20. The BBC have dominated it for many years now.

Trawled through the thread archive to find these, CBB launches (winter and summer).

Winter series
2012 - 3.46m/3.54m (15.8%/16.2%)
2013 - 3.37m/3.55m (15.1%/15.9%)
2014 - 3.18m/3.40m (14.0%/15.0%)
2015 - 3.09m/3.27m (15.4%/16.3%)
2016 - 2.67m/2.80m (13.2%/13.9%)

Summer series
2011 - 5.16m (22.1%)
2012 - 2.61m/2.71m (12.4%/12.9%)
2013 - 2.66m/2.83m (14.2%/15.1%)
2014 - 2.24m/2.36m (11.9%/12.5%)
2015 - 2.15m/2.22m (12.2%/12.6%)
2016 - 2.24m/2.36m (12.9%/13.6%)

Last year's summer series was the final straw for me regarding CBB. I used to look forward to it but not anymore, not after last summer. I've seen the rumoured lineup and it doesn't fill me with any excitement.

Mind, one of my favourite telly moments of 2016 was the David's dead saga. It was disturbing, in a little way disrespectful, yet utterly hilarious.

New afternoon quiz !mpossible started by winning the slot: 1.1m/11.7% @rickedwards1 @MightyShoutOut http://overnights.tv
Given it was against Diversity Steal The Show rpt, I think it probably had a fairly easy time of it.

Diversity have not only flopped once, but twice.

08 – 9.25m (42.1%) – THE X FACTOR

If anyone can fill in some gaps, feel free to do so. I'm sure Countryfile, Call the Midwife and The Voice will be in there somewhere.

Those programmes have no broad public appeal whatsoever, so won't be anywhere near the top in terms of peaks. Your list is bang-on - great job!

I think Hassan meant fill the table with actual facts, rather than your opinion.

The reason I say that is because their 15-minute peaks were as follows (plus some others):

Countryfile: 9.41m (41.6%)
Call the Midwife: 9.36m (38.6%)
Sherlock: 8.65m (34.3%)
EastEnders (NYD): 8.34m (33.3%)
The Voice UK: 7.65m (33.4%) (1-minute peak: 8.8m/38.3%)
Saturday Night Takeaway: 7.61m (33.7%)

Their 5-minute peaks would definitely be higher and in that list (well, some of them). I just can't seem to find them.

Oh wait, hang on a sec - The Voice semi-final peaked with a whopping 5.5m last year. That's gotta be on the list somewhere, right?

Countryfile, a 15-minute peak of 9.4? Must have been that freak Jan/Feb episode which got over 8m.

ITV next Tuesday is actualy looking relatively strong it terms of factual programming with 7.30pm The Money Saving Diet Show
8pm Martin Clunes Islands of Australia
9pm Sugar Free Farm

Whether it translates into ratings or not.

Yes, that's correct. It got an 8.68m (40.1%) overnight on 7th February.

That peak for CF just brngs back to reality how strong the BBC schedule is on Sunday, and any channel trying to gain an audience is like trying to drive uphill in reverse.

Its got to be something crowd pleasing to pull away viewers from Counryfile. Therefore I can't see Dancex3 doing anything more than 3.4m.

Yesterday teatime...

Antiques Road Trip 2.59m
Final Score 1.03m
Tipping Point 2.85m

Pointless 4.17m
The Chase 3.73m
Thanks. The Chase lagging behind Pointless a bit but still strong. I think that might be Tipping Point's biggest ever daytime figure - I certainly don't remember it being that high before.

Looks better than normal but I think Sugar Free Farm might struggle. Might have been better to swap it with Martin Clunes so the diet shows could air together.

Also given that Save Money: Good Health (as the name now seems to be) is going to be on Tuesdays, would it not have made sense to launch it tonight rather than on Thursday? Love of Dogs could have gone on Thursday instead.

I find it incredible how many viewers watch Tipping Point. Its not exactly the most exciting format compared with The Chase.

Also yesterday The Chase had its first day back, whereas Pointless started back last week. Both qizzes must have peaked over 5m I think.

Given how well Tipping Point & The Chase do, on NYE ITV could have just show these two in pace of NWUK and TMO.
