I think its good Mel and Sue are getting a few LE try outs with Mel getting Let it Shine and them doing Lets Sing and Dance as they are experienced presenters as well as being able to crack a funny. (Maybe not comediennes in the strictest sense, but can be very funny in the right circumstances)

It'll be interesting to see how Dawn French gets on hosting Little Big Shots, she hasn't done LE before has she? Could be a useful face to launch new LE- I can't think of many others though that would be suited though. There must be some untested talented comperes on the comedy circuit though surely, it must just be a case of a few TV execs trawling the open mike nights with a few formats in mind?

One thought that popped into my head is giving Brian Conley a vehicle. I know he's knocking on a bit now, but I used to think he was excellent on the BBC Two BGT thing they did (I think it was Let Me Entertain You?)”

I wasnt thinking of a live show for Miranda, few shows are live and few need to be. Ant and Dec, Dermot and Noel do it very well and Norton is suited to it. Doing radio probably helps.

Dawn French was a genius idea, so refreshing. Sue is hosting The Big Spell on sky1 starting on Sunday.

Lovely looking box and at a good price. http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-...44280-pdt.html

.....

Do the Daily Star and Express papers still promote BB or did that die when C5 was sold? If yes, has it had any noticeable effect on the ratings? Actually, has it helped coz it might make the other papers more inclined to be interested in it?

....

The Robson Crusoe programme is not a bad watch.

Yep, if they are looking for bigger audiences then that would seem a logical hook up.

CBB was really, really poor. The All Stars are poor second (sometimes third rate ones) and the New Stars are just .

CBB older lot aren't that bad. But only like Bianca Gascoigne, Jamie O Hara and James Cosmo out of the newbies.

On paper doesn't look good but I think seeing them all it will be quite good. As I say NEVER judge from a cast.

I predict 2.3m tonight.

I'm predicting 3.5m for the launch. I think this will be a great series personally.

It didn't drag as much as previous launches

Interesting to see that ITV are covering Trump's inauguration live on Friday 20th as well as BBC One from 4 to 6pm

Anybody who goes on the same reality TV show twice and it isn't an last ever series celebratory finale, is obviously desperate.

Can Ch5 put together a worse line-up for the spin-off show: Jo Swash, Honey G and Katie Price

I always record CBB and skip through the launch show. Its usually the most dragged out part.

What ratings did This is Us get on Channel 4 so far?

That must be the worst collection of "guests" in the history of reality TV.

You need to lay off the weed before you make any more ratings predictions.

Ch5 must be miffed that last year IAC spin off show was so derided. Trying to regain the title for most dire spin off show.

I'm going to lower my CBB prediction slightly to 2.3m. Didn't have the impact on social media it normally does, and I expect the Arsenal game will have done some damage.

The All Stars seem okay but the New Stars lineup is absolutely dire. Even if it miraculously turns out to be decent from here, I don't expect it to rate anywhere near as well as previous January series. Cue Willis leaving, Rylan taking over and cancellation following soon after.

*shrugs* It had a good run.

Are you joking? Do you really see it being cancelled?

We'll know more in a few days time.

But it's quite clearly peaked on C5, they are not nailing the casting in the way that they used to, and with doubts about Emma Willis' future and the inevitability of Rylan taking her place, there are plenty of reasons to be pessimistic about its future viability.

Can you offer me a reason to be optimistic instead of merely questioning my judgement?

I'm not questioning your judgment. I thought you might be being sarcastic.

I can offer no reason to be optimistic, other than Ch5 depend on this to bring a large number of 16-24 YO to the channel so surely won't let it go without a fight.

I think even if it dropped to 1.5m in overnight figures, they'd keep it going.

Wow Dancc you really are angry about it. I am taken aback really. You are usually "King of Spin" where C5 is concerned. But wow. I have not seen you been this angry.

I thought the show was lousy and didn't feel like a "Launch Show" no show does "Launch Shows" like Strictly does. Emma tries to look and act enthusiastic but I bet she is done on the inside.

There's still one more year in the contract so I wouldn't be surprised if 5 decides to end it next year or just having CBB on a twice yearly basis

This is the problem with biannual or triannual shows. They get tired quickly and become a chore rather than a pleasure and twists need putting in to try and freshen things up.

I really have no idea what C5 can do at this point. It does feel like it is ending naturally. The fact last year's CiviBB was cut short spoke volumes.
