"...Gary Barlow is on R2 brekkie show tomorrow. They also discussed LIS on Ken Bruce's show today. BBC TV certainly gets some help from BBC radio..."

What do you infer by this? It was this I took particular offence at which is why I had to pick up on it.

BBC Television and Radio covers ALL content across all channels and broadcasters in a fair way.
How did it offend you? Other than being loyal to the BBC, what they said was in no way personal.

I think its more likely being a BBC radio station their priorities are more with the BBC, and will use it when needed. Otherwise surely they'd be having one of TVUK judges on. I'm pretty sure they would have done before previous seres.

This is simply untrue. Of course BBC Radio will reference BBC content elsewhere, but it also references content and performers on rival networks too. Do rival networks do the same regarding BBC content?

I don't mind when things are factually accurate but it is right to challenge when things are unfairly implied.

Radio 2 did a two part documentary on Simon Cowell recently. Radio 4's Media Show interviewed Pierce Morgan the other week too.

This regarding The Voice on the BBC's website:

You're asking me what I inferred from my own post? I don't think it quite works like that.

So is it a fact that BBC TV gets help from BBC radio? Yes? Well then it's not lacking in fact now, is it?

A lack of balance? Did I go on to say that "to be fair" the station was interviewing Kara Tointon - one of the stars of ITV The Halcyon - on the Steve Wright show? Is that showing a lack of balance in need of addressing?
You seemed to miss that bit out when you quoted me.

But alas, you took offence by my post. I am sorry, I do forget how hurtful my words can be, especially on such sensitive subjects.

And the BBC fanboys moan about ITV+1...
To be fair I think some of it is genuine confusion re the BBC iPlayer report and BARB's report.

Derek explained to me the other day that the BARB report doesn't include viewing via a TV as it's included in their normal figures. Originally I thought their TV player report was supposed to include everything and that the figures were wildly inaccurate compared to the BBC's (I know the latter is requests but I didn't buy around 800k were clicking on EastEnders and not watching it).

Thanks to Derek I now have more clarity on the issue.

But the data provided by the BBC is accurate. It isn't purporting to be something it's not. I've just had a quick look at one of their performance packs and it makes it clear what the data is and what is being included, just as I presume the TV player report on BARB does too. You just have to read the boring bit and not skip to the figures as I was doing originally.

With regards to EastEnders' ratings, I don't know why some are so desperate for it to fail. Anyone would think the BBC were aggressively scheduling it against one of the ITV soaps.

Why is it an albatross? Wouldn't 3-4m be a decent and more rating these days? BOAF hasn't done too badly for it.
Maybe they would do ten episodes, split it over two runs and then call it a day. Or even just one 6 episode run and call it quits. Depends on the price.
I doubt GS would get 4m on ITV when it didn't get that on the most watched channel BBC One.

..if its any good....it might be crap.
[Re: Let it Shine...] The press seem to rate It, not that that always translates when it comes to ratings.

I imagine Eastenders will have had a hefty drop tonight, out of slot and an hour long
There'll be calls for the BBC to call off the set redevelopment again.
