I don't 'preach it' (whatever that means) mate. I don't like it. The Queen shouldn't be commercialised.

As you don't watch ITV, it's not a problem surely?

How many times have you made this post this week Dan? You're getting as bad as ADP for recycling posts.

What launch figure and series average would be respectable in your eyes?

I have very strong feelings around these matters as you will come to learn Lewie (nice name by the way). My goodness, if I had seen Sky Productions on the closing credits I would have ended up wearing my sherry. I dislike Sky even more than ITV.

I need to drill it into these folk just so we're all clear. I don't want any systemic bias across the thread.

Consolidated avg.: 8m
Launch figure: 8m

I very much doubt she cares.

Seriously? For than that X Factor show? If it gets two mil less than that on both counts I will be surprised. There is no way it will get 8 mil. Remember the BBC demographic who won't watch it because it's ITV.

Do you really think it'll be that high? Why would it increase YOY by so much?

Those are the figures I would find "respectable" as you said - not my predictions.

My predictions are as follows:

Consolidated avg.: 6m
Launch show: 6.5m

which will be dire.

Well she should care. I bet she never thought she'd see the day when she was reduced to appearing on ITV bookended by ads.

That would not be dire.

Given The Royals are using ITV as their chosen broadcaster for much of the Royal based programming, I suspect they are not that bothered.

Dire is probably a little strong Dan, underwhelming possibly...?

So launching at a similar figure to TXF. Interesting.....

And they both get close to 7 million at this time of year. What other block of programming could do that 5 days a week? I have no problem with the ITV soaps.

Well, if anything, this thread has made me laugh tonight

ITV must have caught them on a good day that's all I can say. Royal events should be on the BBC. That's their natural home.

I used to enjoy the royal variety show when it was on the BBC. Caught a bit of it some years later when it was on the other side because I wanted to see a particular singer. Do you know, I gave up waiting. I couldn't be bothered to wade through the whole thing. The pace (with all the ads) was so slow. I never did see the singer I wanted to see. I was disappointed.

Your posts tonight have been the most ridiculous on here for years, not fully sure you are not trying to wind people up,but if you are not, the fact you admit that you were quiet happy to watch a programme, but that changed when you found it to be an ITV/ITN production.Unbelievable.

Your welcome...and that's fine...but it compounds ITV's 'issues' doesn't it...in that it only appeals to certain demos. I won't mention the negative impact on variety and creativity...never-mind the negative impact on the shows themselves. Quality and standards will fall...Ever Decreasing Circles.

This thread is a parody of itself tonight. Some downright bizarre posts.

Except not in August, not on a bank holiday and kicking off a far more important run for the show than series 13 was for XF.

Well being fair, it might be worth seeing what the other talent shows do this year. But a further loss of viewers would not please ITV I wouldn't have thought, considering last series lost ~25% of its audience.

Absolutely awful isn't. I would block certain posters but unfortunately people keep quoting them so the block feature is redundant. :/

I am genuine in all that I say. Honest and consistent. I don't like ITV...in the same way some don't like Sky. I don't see an issue. I was very disappointed to see ITV Productions at the end of The Queen...very disappointed (and upset actually).

I have to wonder how you manage to negotiate everyday life if such a trivial matter upsets you so much.
