My mum whose usual Friday night viewing is Emmerdale then Corrie then EastEnders then Corrie watched Julia last night. She won't watch her next week, she'll be watching EastEnders. She watched just to fill the gap between Corries.

I've just seen a extended trailer for The Good Karma Hospital. It looks like the type of light hearted drama ITV needs. It looks excellent. Its got a mixture of Call The Midwife and The Best Excotic Marigold Hotel.

Its set in a hostpital in India, hot weather, broadcast in February. I think if ITV schedule it on Wednesday it could be a potentially be overnighting 6m+.

It does look perfect for an 8pm drama though. God knows ITV need more of them. But ideally, I would have liked to see:

Sunday:

7pm The Voice UK
8pm The Durrells
9pm The Good Karma Hospital

Top of the Pops: the Story of 1983: 0.63m (3.1%)
Biggest Band Break Ups and Make Ups (R): 0.49m (4.6%)

Do you think all the people on the BARB sample who watched Big Hits were EXACTLY the same people who watched the Story of 1983?

How come there is a such high predictions for Let It Shine? Is it because A) Its been promoted to death or B) You see it attracting a large older audience this boosting its average?

I think its a-given TVUK will drop from last years launch, because its now on ITV And as we discussed and experienced yesterday, there is a chunk of viewers who I'm certain would share the same thoughts as Ash. As strange as it may seem.

Thanks Ray

BBC2, Channel 4 and Channel 5 did well. So so for the football on BBC1.

But its a good way to give the new factual series an few extra viewers who might cling on next week.

Soap viewers are so entuned into turning over to BBC1 between Corrie and....Corrie, that I'm sure they do it automatic. But When they are not on, as your mum did she stayed on ITV, this perhaps intriducing new viewers to Julia's series.

Let It Shine just looks like a hit right from the start. Lots of popular faces and good promo. I think it'll beat The Voice comfortably tonight.

Let It Shine - 6.9m
The Voice - 5.8m

Hollyoaks (E4): 0.69m (3.6%)

Fearless on Thursdays look more likely. I think we might see Prime Suspect launch on Easter Sunday or possibly The Loch. The four parters I'm guessing Thursdays since there is enough Thursdays after Fearless to fit two of them in.

I'm guessing Wednesdays will be factual since they fall into the breaks for BRITS and football although I don't know how many episodes there is for Killer Women, Mafia Women etc with Grantchester starting late March”

Presumably if ITV are putting TGKH on Sundays it will be at 9pm to avoid a clash with Midwife. Unless ITV are supremely confident that Karma can do to Midwife what Midwife did to Wild At Heart.

ITV Media says the target audience for Karma is Female Upmarket, which I would assume makes up a sizeable chunk of Midwife's audience.

Thanks Ray.

Corrie looks weak there with the Excl numbers. Its still pretty poor in my opinion. Affairs and babies. Boring.

Thanks. Must have missed that post.

So Is it likely then that ITV will place TVUK at 8pm with Karma Hospital at 9pm? More likely. No point scheduling Karma Hospital at 8pm when CTM isn't exactly weak yet.

I know it's quite low but that 2nd CBB's share is quite impressive,

Anyway both C5 and C4 had a decent night.

Man City match was a tiny bit lower than I expected as I thought 4.5m but still good.

I don't know what to predict for TVUK and LIS. Maybe 6.0m and 5.1m?

City match probably affected by how one sided it was. I imagine viewers drifted away in the second half.

My brother, a soap fan and football fan, gave up watching the football after Man City scored their fourth goal, right at the start of the second half at 9pm, and watched the Soap Quiz instead.

Would be interesting to see the breakdown to see if that was the case. I'm sure after the 4th goal, a few switched over.

Tabloids are full of positive articles on LIS ,the Voice is getting less press, and the coaches like Sir Tom and Will I am full of negativity on quotes re last years low ratings. That doesn't help. PR wise LIS well ahead. Also TVUK gets repeated on ITV2 and ITV on Sunday that's not going to help tonight.

The Voice UK used to be repeated on BBC3 the day after. That's wasn't a problem back then.

The 'quotes' from the judges, again wasn't a problem back then.
