I don't get all this push for lis, even if it's a hit, it's not returnable and are in the same situation next January.

Well, it has been a quiet night on the ratings thread, hasn't it? I don't understand why people seem intent on winding others up but anyway...

The football on BBC One got an OK rating. Channel 4, BBC Two and Channel 5 had a solid night.

The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent have been repeated on ITV and ITV2 for years. I don't recall you ever mentioning that.

Somehow I don't think that'd be possible. Much as I admire Gary as a songwriter, I can't help thinking the time has passed for the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest. Yes, I know I'm being cynical but it's going to take something special for us to be within a chance.

I think the point Andy is making is that ADP has outlined the reasons that he thinks The Voice UK will be low, but he'll still be making a stream of over-the-top posts come tomorrow morning.

I'll probably watch LIS, but it might not be my thing.

Thanks Hassan for the BBC/ITV breakdowns! Very interesting drop for the match from 8pm to 8:30pm when West Ham was 3-0 down.

Any chance you have the +1 ratings of both CBBs, The Big Quiz of Everything and the ratings for all the soaps (with HD and +1 for ITV?)

I think you're pretty much bang-on for all of them bar The Voice, good job.
And yes, I think anything below six for Voice is a big 'ohno' for ITV. It's possible!

I think the drop would have been to do with it being half time (along with the match seeming like a foregone conclusion).

I've asked rzt for some ITV & C5 ratings (inc +1).

which is how it should be....and is for all the other competing countries And we haven't sent anything very special for donkeys years hence our lacklustre results. The days of us coming second just for turning up are long gone

Oh yes for sure,that would be the reason too. With it about to turn 9pm and being HT with City 3-0 up, it was obvious people would switch somewhere else.

Er ... there's nothing special about the past few winners let alone very. Where our entries fall down is not getting European radio play prior to the contest, not going all out with PR, and not using recognised artists with an existing European fan base. The song itself only has to be half decent.

Exactly. There are countless programmes I enjoy across several genres across several channels. I just don't see what the problem is - the programme is there, the content appeals, just zoom through the ads if it bothers you.

I guess if people like the format they can just apply it to other musicals- Get Brain May on Board for a We Will Rock you revival, Do Jersey Boys, Les Miserables, Wicked- There's loads of productions that would love a televised advert for 8 weeks. Andrew Lloyd Webber could do it again?

Or as has been said the format has been used for Eurovision before so they could do that again, especially now Graham and Mel are involved in both. If it's a hit there's lots of says they could bring it back- Look at Doctor Foster, it's returning but I have no idea how or why

Er .. I think that's a tad disingenuous. It was considered inferior and unappealing before ITV even launched a bid if viewing figures and BBC's complete lack of sorrow at losing it is anything to go by.
