WTA rules are that they can have coaches on the court but not in grand slams.
I never knew that, thanks

Do you know why they cant have coaches on court for the Grand Slams

Slams are not governed by WTA and ATP. I think it's the ITF.

Oh Jo

Please can we have 1st set and the beginning of 2nd set Jo back?

That said, Venus is playing far better than she was and has cut down on the errors and free points she was gifting.

It was all going so well but Venus is a champion.

Jo needs to find her mo back. It's still anybody's final though I think.

Difficult first game. Venus holds, Jo had two break points...

It's very hot there. A long final set should favour the younger player (Jo).

Not sure but I don't think the women's work the same as the men's i.e. 250's, 500's and 1,000's

Her first ever top tier title. This time last year she was playing in an ITF event.

Can she better her US Open performance of last year, based on what we've seen so far this week? Or is it too early to tell?

Yes, that's what I meant. Unlike Venus who already has 49 WTA titles to her name.

500 for the ATP. International for the WTA - 4th rung down from the Premier Mandatories, Premier 5 events and Premiers.

Edit: Completely confused myself with both WTA finals being on at the same time! Stanford is Premier, Washington is International.

She did 4th round last year and she is definitely capable and her ranking will be far better so she will be seeded in top 14 I would imagine
