Well he's got 1 Rio gold medal. 1 more than he was ever expecting.

Amazing match!

At least we can still have an Andy-Delpo-Rafa podium.

He'll get two. He can beat Kei.

I still want Andy to win but I won't mind if Delpo does. It's one of those fairytale stories you've just got to go with.

Del Potro!!!!!

Well done man! He betters his bronze when he didn't know if he could play again.

Dodgy wrists vs formerly dodgy back for Gold then

Oh god, tomorrows match is going to be so tense! I would have been happy with either Rafa or Andy really, but now there are 2 matches where I'll have a big favourite. Nothing against Del Potro, but really wanted Rafa to win this.

Not sure how ticket sales are going. But if they can get them, suspect Argentina will be making some noise tomorrow.

My heart rate is slowing a bit now. I feel like I've run a race after that. Hopefully Rafa can go have a good cry now and compose himself for tomorrow.

Great match by Del Potro especially considering he was playing against the crowd as well as Nadal. I think Murray will have too much for him in the final though. He won't get away with too many mistakes against Murray.

I would prefer Andy wins but would be just as happy with a Delpo win. A nice stress free match for a change...

Gold medal. Well at least most of the crowd will be for Andy tomorrow. They hate the Argies.

It's fitting that Del Potro is in the final as he was the one who put the number 1 out of the tournament. The rankings are looking a bit foolish right now though. World 141.

Oh I'm all emotional! Very teary eyed. Well done Delpo! I'm so proud

What an incredible comeback this has been for Del Potro. Even if he fully recovered from his wrist injury, I genuinely didn't think he could play this kind of tennis again. Some sight to see the forehand still alive and well. I think Andy will probably be a bridge too far for him in the final, but I wouldn't complain if it wasn't. Pleased to be able to have high hopes for Delpo at the US Open. A bit of a shame they got rid of the ranking points too!

Apologies for asking an off-topic question, but can someone tell me what time is the mens's 10,000 metres final tonight? Rio website is a maze and not sure if the times are Rio time or our time

Yes, that's how I feel too. Andy will always be my number one but I love Juan! Seeing his face after he won was lovely, I bet he can't believe how far he's come when not so long ago it was doubtful whether he'd ever be able to play at this level again.

I feel a bit sorry for Rafa and Kei having to play again to sort out the bronze, they must feel so deflated. Think Rafa will get it - especially if Kei plays like he did today!

Wow, what a brilliant match, I'm emotionally drained. Much as I love Rafa, I am pleased for DelPo and hope he can win gold tomorrow. It's a shame either had to lose, I wish that had been the final. It's brilliant to see both players playing so well after their wrist injuries, and for Rafa doing very well on a court other than clay. At least there's still the bronze medal match for Rafa tomorrow, I like that about the Olympics that the losing semi-finalists get another chance - must be awful for the fourth placed player though. I'm going to try and get an early night tonight and catch up from last night!

Such a shame Del Potro has had injury troubles because he'd be top 5 easily.
