Just noted that the twins Laura's beaten this week are called Ali and Kat.

Parents with a sense of humour.

Robson, Dunne, Christie & Webley-Smith all into the qualifying round in Kentucky tomorrow.

And all of them can qualify thanks to the draw.

Oh dear.

Dimitrov is playing awfully
A more surprising comment these days would be that he is playing well.

Poor Dimi, I don't know what Dani Vallverdu can do to help. Random pairing.

Vallverdu? So he's not looking after Delpo then? Or was that purely for Wimbledon (I thought it was longer than that?)

If so, Vallverdu's a bit of a tart, isn't he? 3 players within 2 years!

Well this is the interesting thing, I have googled it and can't see anything. But I listened to the Tennis.com podcast this morning, which was recorded after Jo won last night. And they were saying Vallverdu is with Dimitrov, and it was ok to say because Dimitrov said it in press yesterday. But nothing on Google, I wonder if she has blabbed when she shouldn't have, or she's wrong.

Edit: Wrong podcast, it was The tennis podcast.

It's four if you add in Andy.
Miles Maclagan has got through a fair number of players. Currently with Coric.

Oh ok, she is right then. Apparently Delpo and Dimi have the same agent, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Maybe he is timesharing. I think Gulbis and Thiem had the same coach until very recently and also Simon and...Gasquet? I think shared a coach. Esp if Delpo isn't playing - or is he?

Ouch. Just seen Heather drew Stosur.

Don't really see anything in Coric's game that makes me think he'll make it to the top of men's tennis.
He is hot though.

Why do they not start till lunchtime in Montreal? They know they always suffer with the rain, so surely it would make more sense for an 11am start?

As others have stated, I find your virulent hatred of Kerber a bit odd, particularly given the fact that you're willing to overlook Serena's much worse behaviour, including the exact same withdrawal of Bastad last year in the same circumstances?
Serena didnt play the week after Båstad last year.

Good to see you in here Aaron.

Poor Angelique. Will you ever forgive her Jacco?

I like her now, and let's be honest compared to some of the things Serena has done on-court, Angie is Mary Poppins in comparison.. . As a fan of Serena myself that would make me a massive hypocrite to hold one incident against Kerber. Don't you think?
Hahaha. Probably not.
I tried after AO, I just can't do it. Henin was the same.

Managed to somewhat like Hingis in the end, so there is still hope.

Heather lost and Naomi won overnight. I feel sorry for Heather as she never gets much luck. Why can't she get a wildcard ranked 450 for once? Good win for Naaomi against Puig.
Kyrgios lost to a Canadian and Sloane lost to Giorgi.

I suppose the advantage of being in US for the open is I can watch night matches.

Heather was 5-1 down first set.

Nick apparently has a knee injury or something but excellent for the young Canadian who beat him.

Dan Evans is now the British No.2, Bedene slips to No.4.

I feel sorry for Bedene. I think his non eligibility for DC and Rio knocked him for six as he has ended up in limbo.
Dan seems to have aquired most of his points playing challengers. Lets see where he is after US Open.
There are 10 points at the moment between Dan Kyle and Aljaz

I find Dan a bit of an odd one. Tennis is an individual sport I know but he doesn't want to play DC or go to the Olympics. He has played DC in the past but at the moment wants to plough his own little furrow.

Yes I feel sorry for Aljaz but Kyle and Dan have really improved too.

Alja should be able to play Davis Cup- its stupid that two dead rubbers for Slovenia have ruled him out playing for Team GB. I can see he must feel hurt by it.

Especially as in athletics they swap countries for fun. Well big bucks are involved.
