If we all agree that Angelique Kerber is the worst person alive can we just let this go now?

Oh where did you see her?
Is she in Rio?
She's Russia's Fed Cup captain and was watching Makarova and Vesnina.

Young Delpo

Anybody else thinking 'what am I going to do now'? We've been truly spoilt this year with tennis!

Yeah, but everyone here seems to love him...
I love him too. He has pushed the playing speed all his career but it's up to umpires to deal with the slow pace (and not by giving time violations at critical moments *Pascal Maria*).

Chances are the changing rooms/bathrooms weren't on top of the court so it would have taken anyone some time to get there and back. I'm just annoyed that Nadal let Kei get to him because he (Rafa) should have been on that podium with Andy and Delpo.

It's him or Whitlock for SPOTY.
If Whitlock completes in Tokyo, then I reckon he would be flag bearer.

Yeah Rafa and Andy would be excused (I think) for giving Cincy the barest minimal effort.

At least we should have a new non "Big 4" winner of MS event, assuming Jo doesn't win it.

The most annoying thing about USO is that Delp isn't ranked in the top 32. Unless there's a fluke of the draw he's bound to get a seed in the first two rounds, which sucks for him (and obviously whoever he's picked against).

Assuming of course that USO does the decent thing and gives him a wild card. It would be ridiculous that if a former champ, current silver medallist and effectively a top 10 player on form right now was made to go through the qualies.
Has Stan not won one?

USO wc's are announced later this week. I know he's a bit annoying but Ben Rothenburg on twitter has been quite vocal over how daft it would be for Delpo to not be given one - so if he isn't(!!) I think they'd be alot of noise over it.

I couldn't stay up to watch past the third set last night. I also felt Andy was going to win it as Delpo looked pretty spent. Congrats to Andy and I'm happy Delpo got the silver

Now what...

The second bit it true but I would dispute that loads of people don't like him. He's one of the most popular players wherever he goes and has been from the start of his career. Probably only Federer is more universally liked.

re: wildcard - regardless of his Olympics performance, you'd think USO would give one to a former champion. Especially one as recently as 2009.

I'm absolutely thrilled at the result. I knew he would do it, surely Sir Andy Murray beckons now?

Lord Murray of Surrey, surely?

Oh yeah they are in the minority, he is incredibly popular, especially now he is no longer winning everything. I expect the same will happen with Novak when he eventually slows down a bit. But it's not rare to find people that don't like him, there are still plenty about.

There used to be a poster on here who was adamant that everyone in the world hated Rafa based on Menstennisforum posts, it amused me greatly. She was a big Novak fan, I often wonder how angry she would be to read this thread these days,

Good. I hope Kerber has the sense to pull out too. Zero point to Petra playing New Haven as well, although maybe she needs it to guarantee herself a top 16 seed in New York?

Haha attackmusic, she started out pretty normal and got more deranged as time went on. Still just cause that account got banned it doesn't mean she's no longer here, she's probably re-registered under a new name.

Eurosport confirm they're the sole broadcaster of USO

So much for that ITV rumour.
