Watson not playing Cincy?

So much for that ITV rumour.”

Good stuff, I can stick both ES1 and 2 on record when I flake out in the night.

They've been making waves, what with the share deal with the BBC for the Wimbledon finals and future coverage of the Olympics. Now if only they could use some of this cash they suddenly found to bankrupt BT Sport and take back coverage of the WTA tour.

She didn't - couldn't - leave Rio in enough time as she had to go through qualies. Guess she will do New Haven instead.

She was in the qualifying list but withdrew. Maybe when she and Andy got into the Olympics as alternates.

Whilst I would agree that Djoko hasn't been playing like the world No 1 lately I think it's safe to say Andy didn't play like the best player in the world at the Olympics either. If you disagree just read back through this thread.
I would actually say that Djoko played better against an 'on fire' Delpo than Andy played last night against an understandably fatigued Delpo.
Just my opinion but as I said if you don't agree, read back through the thread.

Weren't you accusing him of faking it last night?

I agree with you but Andy still won.

Ferrer loses in Cincy 1st round to Benneteau.
Dolgopolov retires during his match.

Secondly, I'm so proud of Delpo. The players he defeated to reach the final. The way he played. I'm so happy and thrilled that he got the silver medal and went one better than London! ”

He really did have an unbelievably tough draw together with a tough schedule, having to play that gruelling match the night before the final. I think he was the true star of the Olympic tennis.
Andy on the other hand only played one top 20 player and that was Kei, who most on here don't rate at all.
Well someone had to say it.

Players always play inspired tennis at the Olympics. Much higher than their rankings suggest. Just look at Puig.

Oh well, makes a change from the usual first round thrashing - seems more bothered about pokemon than tennis.

There used to be a poster on here who was adamant that everyone in the world hated Rafa based on Menstennisforum posts, it amused me greatly. She was a big Novak fan, I often wonder how angry she would be to read this thread these days,”

There still is one on here who thinks everyone in the world hates Djoko.

I swear, news is going downhill. You could always rely on the Mail to willfully mis-represent what someone says to engineer offence, but now everyone is joining in. Some of the stuff said about Inverdale today has been hateful - all because he tried to congratulate Murray on being the first ever tennis player to win two singles golds, but forgot to specify he was talking about singles. It's telling that no-one thinks Inverdale thinks all of the male double gold winners don't exist, or aren't people, or whatever click-bait claims were made by the various sensationalist articles covering a very selective bit the story.

Apparently, 3.3 million were watching the tennis at 10pm, but I expect it will have dropped off a lot by midnight. It will be interesting to see how many people hung on until the end.

I quite agree. I don't think it helped that it was Inverdale who said it after all the Marion stuff. Which reminded me about Marion and so I looked on her twitter.
It would appear she was here:

Steve Johnson is a bit of an idiot. Like it wouldn't upset people if Delpo knocked out Djoko or Nadal early? (like, he just did that!) Maybe if it was an American woman, sure but are the US men as beloved as all that?

ETA: Oh, Milos

She totally lost the plot at that point in 1999, and I have to admit that it was enjoyable as she in my opinion was quite precocious.
As far as the Hlavackova incident is concerned, I would have thought she could have shown rather more concern. I don't know if she did, but surely she could have gone to see if Andrea was OK. I think the umpire got off his chair to check, I think she should have gone to her too

Bleugh. Well that's me listening on the radio then as Eurosport doesn't seem to be available without some expensive package that would mean I'd have to change broadband providers. Not happening just for one slam. If Andy makes the final I'll watch on an illegal stream as I can't pay to get it on TV.

Mountains out of molehills with regards to Inverdale some people will latch onto anything because they don't like him.

I like the answers on the Ben Rothenburg tweet especially the one about Delpo knocking out three american up and comers in the qualifying

If you have a computer or tablet, you can get Eurosport for the month. It's only £6.99 or something I believe. I do this for the Australian every year.

there are some cracking answers - I don't think one of them agrees with Steve. Take that, ha!

Haha attackmusic, she started out pretty normal and got more deranged as time went on. Still just cause that account got banned it doesn't mean she's no longer here, she's probably re-registered under a new name.”

Yes I remember her, she did not like Rafa I have often wondered if she registered under a different name.

I have to disagree on this. Murray called it right. Who are the multiple male double gold winners?

I didn't. I was listening on the radio until my internet connection died.

I know but I need my computer for work so I can't block it up with tennis. If I could pay to get it on TV I would. I bought a now TV box which is £6.99 a day (if you only buy a day) but for reasons I do not understand Eurosport is not on it.
