Serena having the time of her life, singing and dancing the night away with her friends last night. Meanwhile Kerber is just two matches away from taking the #1!

Petko and Ostapenko are a pairing in the USO... that should be an interesting piece of voyeurism.

And in another new low for Ivanovic, she's resorted to doubles to find some form. Teaming up with her bestie, Cirstea.

Berdy out of USO due to appendicitis.

It was bad enough watching it without miss superior Anne K commentating. That made it almost unbearable.

Shame about Berdy, illness is a terrible reason to miss a slam. I guess that free's up his customary semi final spot.

I did think a very similar thing myself...

I honestly thought Halep would be quite a match for Kerber, but it would seem I was wrong.

Should be interesting to see the effect on Serena if Kerber does get it, will she put pressure on herself to get it back, or will she swing away more freely at the US Open? Probably the latter, and it can only put pressure on Kerber.

Nice to see Pliskova getting a few wins for herself, it's important not to be undercooked in your preparations for first round slam exits

Pliskobot is only thing that can save Serena now. One match away!

Serena does what Serena wants, I think it'll only serve to make her more thirsty for blood at the USO. Especially now she doesn't go into it with the same insane level of pressure and expectation of last years USO.

Hope they search Hingis' bag for DVD players before they arrive on court

It's almost time for Andy. If he comes out as flat and clutching his back or shoulder today he will likely lose. If he has managed to shift the fatigue and niggles it will still be tight but will win. Raonic is such an improved player and his decision to employ McEnroe during Wimbledon was a very wise one

Andy is into the final at Cincy, 6-4, 6-3. How knackered does he look to anyone watching?

Andy wins in straight sets, yet could have been disqualified.

Narrowly avoids hitting chair umpire after he kicked ball on a missed match point.

Weird week.

I think Andy might be winning just to spite us, most of us think he should withdraw and he's having none of it. At least Rafa had the decency to be rubbish in his match.

Umpire's reaction is priceless.
Isn't that the umpire he had a problem with earlier in the year in the match against Rafa, or is my mind deceiving me?

The umpire actually moves his head out of the way to avoid disqualifying him.

Instinctive but thanks, mate.
