I think they've let it go for good, I'm guessing ratings weren't that significant for them (even post Andy's 2012 triumph.)

Someone else had started a rumour that ITV were looking into secondary rights, but that never amounted to anything sadly.

Maybe ITV might look into it if there's enough demand.

Havent a clue, not sure if Sky decided not to buy the rights off Eurosport or if Eurosport didnt even offer them this time, remember Eurosport is trying to make itsself a more serious sports channel in the UK these days and may have decided to keep it all for itself from now on.

I think it's the opposite Lushness, he cares immensely and it shows; he's coming up with ever more desperate and contrived nonsense because he wants to be as loved as Federer and Nadal.”

He's not hurting anyone though, apart from perhaps his pride. If that's the worst thing he's got going for him I dont think he's doing too bad.

Well, once again I'm not keen on either Eurosport match. Not in the mood for either Hev or Ana. Decisions decisions. Evo-Ram, Bertens-Konjuh. Khachanov's match is on a non-televised court.

Defo agree with you. Vika was the same singing happy birthday on court...these types feel so needy and unloved. Really puts me off 'em.

Hopefully a few lower ranked players kick up a fuss in their press conferences, and mainstream media can then run with it. It's just too important to sweep under the carpet...

Thank you both.

Looking about the internet, it seems nobody knows for sure. I can't find a conclusive answer if Sky Sports are just temporarily dropping the US Open, or if it's a more permanent arrangement.

Does it really matter? Most people who have Sky Sports, will also have access to Eurosport too. But it doesn't work the other way round. So for me, it's much better having it on Eurosport, as I have Eurosport 1 and 2, but I don't have Sky Sports.

Watson, Watson, where for art thou Tennis?

There's something wrong with Watson. I thought the first set was too easy for her opponent.

Heather looks like death warmed up and I'm sure I just heard the supervisor requesting a sick bucket. Although I am trying to multitask Ana's match and the Safarova-Gavrilova match at the same time too.

I was the latter for years, I only got Sky Sports last year and they have given up the rights. The only issue with Eurosport is its limited TV output, 2 matches to choose from is pretty poor. I have Eurosport in my TV package and have had to buy their player to see the matches I want. Double dipping leaves a bad taste. Yes it's only £4.99 but its the principal of the thing. I can see why people think it does matter, as they are getting an arguably inferior product.

I did not expect Halep to hammer Flipkins 6-0 in the first!

Does it really matter? Of course it doesn't matter, it's just a discussion.

I prefer it on Eurosport too, as I don't have to pay out for Sky Sports to see it all now.

I really like Ana's dress, not quite so garish as others and the back looks fab.

It looked like the first set was going to be a continuation of the first, but Heather Watson came right back with the heart of a lion to hold on. Is this the beginning of a brilliant British comeback?

I'm not watching but it's probably the heat. The humidity is a beast today.

Hogenkamps dress is dire. Prefer the day glo to that although Dan does look rather bright.

Then Heather is easily broken again.

She can only play well when she's behind.

Despite being a break up earlier in the set, Dan Evans has now just lost the 2nd set.

One set all now (2-6, 6-4).

This time after breaking back, Heather holds on, although her errors made the game more of a contest than it should have been. Hopefully she an level this set from here.

Difficult to know what's really going on in Ana's head, is it just that she's been so disracted by the recent changes in her life, or is it that she doesn't give a shit about tennis any more? Either way I don't see the point of her even playing much for the rest of the season, at this stage she she just cut her losses, take some time out and decide if tennis is really what she wants to do any more. Probably won't happen though.

No 3 set special for Hev. Still trying to avoid being sick as she leaves the court. Once the heat and humidity has got you, you're pretty much done for.
