Well done, Andy another straight forward performance.

When it rains in NY it really rains, I got drenched in that downpour!

I still think Novak is favourite to win the US Open

But Andy can beat him

Amazing how the weather has followed the tennis tours around this year.

Thanks Might have to treat myself if he re-appears in another match. Hoping he's done for the day

That's true, the Olympic kits looked good, although relatively restrained. When I think of colours in tennis kits now I think of the loud yellow neon type ones we've seen this week or Stan's shorts at the French last year I've probably got a short memory but I tend to think of Andy in the more muted dark green kit at the French or just black and blues outside of Wimbledon.

Chrissie and Pam Shriver are so syncophantic about Venus. They have mentioned her syndrome about twenty times. Pam was nearly in tears. I love Venus but this is too much.

There's a reason Chrissie has her own hashtag.

Here she is giving serious side-eye when Garbine is referred to as the future of the WTA.

Not sure why garbine has been so bloody awful either side of her french open win.....has the pressure got to her? Is she just a one slam wonder? Did the press go overboard on her, because they are so fed up with williams winning time after time? Is it time for her to getnew tactics/a new coach/see a shrink?
Is it a combi of all of the above?? I give up!! #frustrated

They'll be catching up with Andrew Castle telling us how long it takes to get from Manhattan to Flushing Meadows. He mentions it every time I hear him.

He went to a break the other night with 'This is Eurosport' ........ he thinks he's still on LBC.

None of the 'younger' set have come through to challenge murray or djokovic. Nadal and Federer would still be up there if they weren't too old. How dissapointing is the men's game.
Take williams out of the women's draw, and its all lottery who wins, on the other hand...

Now they are talking about Venus dignity and grace, her beautiful dress etc. Give it a rest ladies.

None of this Venus worship from Jo Jury. Jo knows what to do in the commentary box.

Venus has been better in this match than some of the previous ones I watched earlier in the year.

Venus needed a couple of attempts at the end but she was fired up.

It's herr sister's turn next to give the world a lesson in how to play tennis.

Especially Pam 'Fozzy Bear' Shriver who looked ridiculous in that outfit. She looked like her trousers shrank in the wash.

Hurrah Kei has finished. Not long before we get Naomi *life isn't fair!* Broady crying to the umpire that she's playing against a wizard.

Why do you call her Fozzy Bear

Is it because she acts like a muppet

Yes. Her hair used to look like Fozzy Bears hair when she was a player. Plus her voice sounds like Fozzy Bear as well.

There's only one player I'd support over Aga and she's now banned (), so I'm definitely Team Aga.

Aga looks very well with her hair in a bun. She looks younger. I don't think I've seen her hair up like that before.
