What a fantastic result. Djokovic will be a tough ask but his lack of matches and early exits at Wimbledon and the Olympics might give Kyle a bit of belief given his good form so far. I won't be getting my hopes up too much but it's and exciting prospect. (And much more exciting than the prospect of Djokovic v Isner. Think I would've passed on that one!)

Eurosport has got the exclusive coverage at just the right year for us Brits. Just think of all the great matches I would have missed on my TV if Sky still have the exclusive GB matches coverage.
But the coverage overall I have enjoyed. |

Amazing point from Nadal, I thought he'd won the match the way he was celebrating.

I can see why some folks get annoyed by Marion, jeez her voice can be so high pitched. I nearly jumped out of my skin when she got excited over that career prize money for Catherine.

I saw an interview with Marion in NYC earlier.
Nice to see she looks so much healthier and has gained weight. Whatever she did in Italy - it seems to be working. Not sure about running the New York Marathon though. Chris Bradnam saying he vividly recalls Connors playing on the Arthur Ashe Court under the lights. I don't think that ever happened, since Connors last Open was in 1992. AA wasn't built until '97. Where's Jo Durie when he needs her. She's always correcting him.

This is a better match than I was expecting. |

Gavrilova just randomly replicating a Poots gif. Couldn't really get a bigger contrast in styles than going from Niculescu-Woz to Keys-Osaka! Next time Johnson should keep his opinions to himself. Loved Delpo's reaction when he was told he was facing Ferrer or Fognini. Only when people mention it. I prefer to forget that ever happened tbh. ![]() Even though he didn't really think it through I'm glad Johnson spoke his mind actually, it added spice to the match. The crowd got the chance to show whose side they were on and they emphatically chose Delpo. Delpo must've felt amazing drinking in that atmosphere. Quote:
I think issue is Cillic himself, not that a non big 4 player won. I'd love to see some new winners, but that would require the younger generation to finally step up and take it. The wait continues.

Depends on the player. I find Cilic turgidly dull, not to mention the whole doping ban saga.

Vinci taking the first set 6-0 against Wittwhateverhernameis, the German.
I remember watching a match with her and Ange at Wimbledon and thought she did pretty well considering she lost 6-0 6-0 the year before. She seems to be a fan of the bagel. I take it back. Takes the second set from Vinci 7-5. ![]() Quote:

![]() It's like they're stuck in a time warp at times. I can virtually rattle off the playlists by heart now. Always a Joan Jett, Michael Jackson, Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith and Beastie Boys. They've thrown in Phil Collins a few times too this week so maybe he was nice to the DJ when he opened the tournament. Quote:

Indeed he is. I was getting worried when after losing the 2nd set, he intermediately went love 40 down on his serve at the beginning of the the 3rd. But then he won 5 points in a row to hold serve, and from that point on, he never looked back.
Also appreciated Kyle reading the Isner service patterns and going for placement over power on BH returns, forcing John to hit volleys off his shoelaces. Muzza would be proud. Leon Smith is going to have a selection headache for the Davis Cup, isn't he? Can't see how Dan or Kyle can be left out now. |

I see two comments about Djokovic, one about his taxes and one about his cheesy whooshy thing. That hardly constitutes "even more anti Djoko sniping on here than usual."

I think you'll find he pays plenty back to Serbia.
Sad to see even more anti Djoko sniping on here than usual. Disappointed with the way things are panning out. He needs match play more than even more time out. ![]() I haven't mentioned his draw, the walkovers, nothing, I did find his singing a bit cringe but thats it. If Rafa sang in an interview i'd have to turn the tv off, so not an anti Novak thing. |

In taxes? I assume he does give money to the country because he loves it. I think that is the only thing I have said about him, I hardly think that constitutes 'anti Djoko sniping'. I was making an observation, because I was surprised he would choose to live in a tax haven.

There have been a lot of digs over the past week, certainly more than the 2 quoted in another post and certainly more than those against Sabine. It seems to have become the norm - not sure people even realise they are doing it anymore. Anyway, I have defended my right to post what I want when I want many times so I shouldn't grumble when others do the same. I can either suck it up, argue or move on and I have decided on the latter. I think most people will agree this thread isn't the best place for a Djoko fan. ![]() Didn't want to leave with bad feeling between us though as you are one of the nicer posters imo. So enjoy the tennis everyone and I might see some of you on the SCD forum.

Sorry Jen, I should have left a space between the lines as the 2nd line wasn't directed only at you.

Looking at the draw Andy if he wins tonight would possibly face Dimi, Kei, then Stan/Delpo. Not easy matches.
Novak faces Kyle, JWT, then Rafa. Maybe put Sock and Monfils in mix. After two byes Novak looks to have the easier half to me. |
