The French mentality is quite something. Wasn't Cornut an actress at one point? If not, she missed her calling
My personal theory on wildcards is that they work in small doses. However, players require a period to develop and learning the game whilst winning is best achieved at challenger/ITF level. Overdo the tour level wildcards and they can become reliant on them, and not develop. Donald Young and Ryan Harrison were undermined by endless WCs.

Papers are barely breaking even for the most part, so they get desperate and type up clickbait nonsense. Kind of the dying embers of the fourth estate.

Plenty of players have done and gotten away with worse than Nick over the years and yet he's continually pulled up over every slight thing. No wonder he gets fed up at times and people forget he's still a baby really in tennis terms. Only Zverev and Coric are younger than him in the top 50.”
Agree that Hewitt is a dream DC captain, he got so fired up. Some of his greatest memories are in DC.

One of the top 10 absent is Fed, another is Berdman who is usually a lock for the second week. Then Raonic wilted in the humidity.

Hmm, interesting. I'd agree that Dan is a better bet than Kyle for doubles, but I don't think he and Jamie have ever played together? Davis Cup semi is not really the time to experiment.
I'd say that if Andy's willing to play the tie, he'll want to play three rubbers. His commitment is second to none.
For me, it's about the court speed/bounce. If it's on the quicker side and lowish bounce, then I'd pick Dan. If slow and high bouncing, Kyle gets the nod.
