Looks like Ana will have a lot more time to spend with her new hubby as he's being dropped by Man U and has retired from the German team. I wonder if she will retire also.

Despite her abysmal season, Ana's not ready to chuck it in yet. She's in the gym and getting practice work in ready for Rio. |

He's only retired from international football, he's bound to get a silly money offer from the Chinese league, etc.

What has happened to Santina this year? Just lost again to an American pair.

Looks like Andy is having a nice time in Majorca, he spent the day with Kim on Rafa's yacht. Maybe it's payment for helping Rafa train. |

He might just travel with her for a while, I think Ana has a few years left in her. Unless they decide to have kids, I can't see her retiring just yet.

Disappointing from Dimi in the end.
Played some lovely tennis though - hopefully this week will be the start of better things to come. Looking very slim and very handsome - despite the knobbly knees.

I saw that all play out last night. Bit rich of loco Coco calling others rude given her on court antics! I like Nicole, she never shies away from having an opinion and articulates herself well. No wonder she ran rings around her.

Kerber having another good run, into the Montreal semi-finals, should be favourite for the title too. Hope she doesn't wear herself out for Rio though, she's got a serious medal chance.
Speaking of Rio, will the BBC have the full tennis rights? Think it's pretty safe to say none of it will be shown on RTÉ

I like the way David Mercer just put it
"A win for Konta would not only put her in to the semi-finals, but would put her into the world's top ten". That's music to my ears. Never thought I would ever hear that said about a female British tennis player. |

I find Jo Konta just mesmerising to watch. So much talent, so much effort. OK so she tends to struggle when her opponent takes the pace off the ball, but when it's going well she's just fab. She must be close to regular appearances in QFs and SFs of majors, if she can get the consistency. .

Oh Jo you'd done all the hard work and got back to deuce from 0-40.
She's having a hard time working out this Kucova puzzle. She's not being allowed to play her way and Jo's only solution so far seems to be to dropshot everything. Kucova beat Wickmayer, CSN and Bouchard on her route to this match so she's definitely not to be taken lightly. |

Kucova does it, cheered on by Hingis.
Just a nightmare scenario for Jo, couldn't even get any free points on her serve. The push for top 10 is briefly on hold, but still not a bad week considering the quick turnover from the Stanford win. |

Konta will be lucky to get past round 1 at the US Open, based on that performance. She couldn't wait to get off court.
Nevermind, onwards and upwards. On to Rio she goes. |

She's still had an amazing couple of weeks though. I'm just so gutted for her.

Nevermind, onwards and upwards. On to Rio she goes. We have a qualifier who has knocked out seeded players, former top 20 players, like they and their ranking, experience don't exist. Think she has un nerved that half of the draw. |

Well Djoko got the job done - eventually.
Not sure whats going on with him - he appears to have lost his hunger.Nice to see him looking happy and relaxed though - better than grumpy and shouting all the time. Really needs to up his game if he wants to beat Gael though. |

Like I mentioned before, that was just too rigid from Konta. She's yet to learn how to naturally change her approach to the points and not panic when things aren't going to plan. There are times when she gets a little clumsy when the ball is just sitting there waiting to be hit, like she's overthinking things.
I still think she'll reach the top 10 before she starts having to defend all those ranking points. Whether she'll stay in the top 10 throughout next year... I'm not so sure tbh. |

When Monfils isn't goofing around, he plays a similar style to Murray in my opinion. It would be interesting to see him take on Djokovic, who hasn't been in the best form recently.
