Shame, not sure if he will ever get back to his best.

I wonder how long before Nole plays?

Well baring a miracle Nadal's almost certainly not going to pass Roger's total now that's for sure.

You could at best see him winning another grand slam, but hes not going to win 3 or 4 at 31+.

I think he plays after the Petra Kvitova Angelique Kerber match, which could be a three set classic

So i would say three in the morning

Eek I will watch Kvitova v Kerber see if it's going to be a quickie or not before I decide about staying up.

Pouille v Monfils next round, interesting. I always think Monfils should have done better, let's see if he is going to be serious.

Owen, do you have the Kvitova v Kerber match on Eurosports 1, not showing it for me, I'm watching a replay of Konta?

The day session overran thanks to Nadal and Pouille going to 5 and so there's a delay while they empty and refill the stadium with the night session ticket holders.

Thanks Lisa, just on ESPN showed them coming out but I see Eurosports will be showing it now.

I can't see Kyle & Novak getting on till 3.30am, perhaps even 4am. I was staying up to watch but I'm not sure I'll stay awake that long.

I'm going to try, I don't have work tomorrow, matchsticks at the ready.

Kvitova is splaying balls left, right and centre, this could be over fast.

Kerber had 2 set points, she has one left but tbh bit boring this match.

ETA she took it on the 2nd one, ok might be over fast.

Petra is so exasperating. Kerber isn't even playing that well, just being more consistent and letting the Petra errors flow.

Yes, Kerber is just defending well and waiting for Petra's balls to go out, which they seem to do at an alarming rate. Plan B needed for Petra but she never seems to have one.

Maybe we spoke too soon.

ETA or not, Petra back to her splaying of balls.

Kerber's the epitome of German efficiency. No histrionics, high pitched squealing etc. Just puts her head down and gets on with the task at hand.

No consistency from Petra whatsoever, does one brilliant shot followed by two unforced errors. There has only been one really good rally the whole match.

Yes, just defends well and is consistent but don't really enjoy matches with so many errors.

Petra really needs to go for her shots more

I think she goes for them too much, needs to allow for a degree of error and play them a bit more safely. She needs to stop hesitating and commit to the net.

Plus, her movement isn't great.

Petra may as well go for some chipping and charging, she's had a lot of joy when she's gone to the net tonight.

Another unforced error by Kvitova brings up match point for Angelique.
