At least this saves us from the inevitable rubbish about Novak not being a worthy champ, which we would have heard from Murray's fans if he had reached the final and lost to Djokovic.

I would like to see Monfils win now, would love to see that or Del Potro”
You could say that about Konta too though. Where did the Konta from the Bencic match go? All players have bad days, Just a shame they so often seem to be at crucial stages in tournaments.
I really did not see that coming I guess the only thing you could point to is that the amazing year Andy has had has maybe taken its toll, coupled with an inspired opponent on the day

Hope so now that Murray is out. I think Del Potro can do it. He has been timing his forehands really well from what i've seen lately. His movement isn't great but he makes up for it with timing

Was tiredness a factor? I watched him in Rio and he had a couple of second set meltdowns. He's perfectly capable of just screwing up. However, Kei played really well.

As opposed to the rubbish about all Andy's major wins only happening because of his opponent being tired or the magical one sided wind.

I think tiredness and mentally, he just doesn't seem to be all there too.
Andy is having the best year of his life. His best ever clay court season including beating Novak in one final and reaching his 1st Roland Garros final. He won Queens, then won Wimbledon, then an Olympic Gold. The guy is human, he had a bad day today, it happens, but lets not forget, he is still a great player.

But I`m not even talking so much about the performance but also the focus he showed, that`s what cost him today expending so much time and energy complaining, and I know it was a crucial time for that sound to go off, but he lost all focus. And Kei just got on with things

I've NEVER said anything against Andy's major wins.
