Just seen it.

She certainly was not in the mood to answer questions!

Well played Karolina. Joins the Beat Serena Club which is getting increasing long as Serena moves through her 30s.

And congrats to the new No.1. But will she be the champion?

I didn't see the matches last night, I just couldn't stay up (i'm a wimp). But very happy with the results, I'm hoping Angie wins, what a great way to start out as number 1.

On an unrelated note, I have to post this, it makes me laugh every time I see it.https://twitter.com/Ratazana/status/773727133118132225

Just imagine if Angelique married P. H. Herbert - she'd be Care Bear Hair Bear

Wow! I wasn't expecting this! Pliskobot in a final?

I'm on Ange's side for the final, of course. Would love her to cement her new career high!

Yes, that's what we should expect. Ordinarily she shouldn't be where she's been recently at her age.

I still expect at least another slam though. But 24? Hmm... Each one is going to be noticeably harder now.

Then there's the injuries factor.

Why? I never like seeing anyone doing that, even if I don't much care for them. But it happens even to the best. E.g., Novak against Rafa.

Did Justine Henin ever win the US Open?

Yeah, Wimbledon was the only GS off her list.

Yes, she really could have done with a rest day between quarter and semi finals. She'd have had that at Wimbledon.

Would be good for the WTA to have a new number 1 who has a couple of slam titles to her name.

Yeah that's a bit bitchy. Double faulting is a horrible way to lose/end a match, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, even dear Coco.

I agree.

It was a little ironic though. The AA crowd on occasions cheered Pliskova's double faults last night - and then the player they were backing lost the match on one.

I agree, it's arguably the worst way to lose.

Oh, I love a bit of Coco! I'll always remember the match at Wimby where she was against Safarova, (who had just been at the FO final) and the female coms. were being so negative about her, clearly didn't like her. She went on to win the match and reach the QF's. As soon as the tide started to turn, they backtracked on everything they said and looked like proper idiots.

All in all still a pretty good year from Serena, 3 grand slam finals, one semi final.

Still incredibly dominant on tour, pretty confidant she will stay in the top 5 for a good number of years yet, and she'll still easily pass MC and SG's records if she goes on for another 3-5 years.

I don't think she will last that long. Her body is starting to break down now with shoulder, arm and knee injuries. She will be 35 later this month. There is no way she will be able to complete with all the younger up and coming players.

Coco has talent and is a good player. If she could get rid of the bratty behaviour then she would be so much more likeable. Throwing racquets at folk ain't helping her cause.

Because I don't like her, and there is plenty of reasons not too

I had a feeling in my mind Karolina could win that. I've been rooting for this tournament and hope she can pull it off!

Aga did a Cibulkova, double booked her wedding for the final.

Edit: Oh wait actually I think it's her coach Tomasz' wedding first.

Which is even funnier really showed her coach had no faith.

Would be interesting to know who is considered more obnoxious on Tour Siegemund or Coco. Still I don'y mind all adds to the entertainment.

All those American flags for an American loser, shame.
