Considering the flak he got for his lacklustre performance in Beijing, I'm not so sure. Especially as he's defending champion "he's letting the side down, depriving Team GB of a medal."

When it comes to national matters, Andy is always walking a tightrope.
It's a shame because nobody has commited more to the national cause than Andy. He went out to Serbia to support the DC Team which he didn't need to do. He is a big supporter of the British tennis players giving them time and expertise.

In my biased eyes Andy is a legend. Appreciate him whilst you have got him which may only be for 3/4 years.

Good old David Lloyd tells us that Andy doesn't do enough to promote the game, so clearly Andy is the anti-Christ

Have to agree with these statements 100%.

Oh dear. Cringe. After all this time, how can he not see how embarrassing and transparent this is? Just be yourself ffs. That's why I've always loved Andy so much, he's always been himself and never tried to pretend otherwise.

Prepping for Rio, hanging out with Rafa, going on Rafa's boat, playing with Rafa in Mallorca.

You and me both planets. Rafa flew to Rio yesterday, I still don't know what events he is actually competing in. Surely he wont play all 3?

I thought it was announced last week he wasn't playing singles. Did I misread that?

It's not been officially announced, apparently they can decide pretty late on so it's still up in the air. If you just google his name, it says men's singles and doubles. But there is a story saying he is practicing in Rio but hasn't decided if he will play at all. Basically a mess.

With Baku now gone from the calendar, surely Nanchang takes the prize for most irrelvant tournament on the WTA. Schiavone's there enjoying herself though, so there's that.

For the ATP side it's surely either the upcoming Los Cabos Open, or perhaps the inaugural Chengdu open happening next month. I know I'll be tuning into that one With all China's money though I imagine they'll nab themselves a top ten player or two.

Not great news for his fans or Team Spain.

Hopefully he'll be able to compete in at least the doubles.

It's getting a little much now, isn't it?

I mean that and the new celebration after every win since the beginning of the FO. I thought he was doing it to get the French crowd on side, but it stuck around, even when he beats people ranked 100. It's something that really gets to me.

I guess he's still waiting on that wrist injury didn't he miss the last Olympics? so if there's a possibility he can play he's most likely leaving it to the last minute. I hope he doesn't damage it more though i think it would be the end if he got an injury as bad as Delpo's was

Ok, i'm resigned. I don't think he is going to play. Probably for the best if he wants to avoid serious injury, I don't want him to make it worse and have to shut down his season like Roger.

Cibulkova now out of the Olympics too, left leg inflammation and has been advised to take seven to ten days rest. Or so she says. Can only help her US Open chances, where I have high hopes for her.

She trotted out the Zika excuse a couple of weeks ago.

She pulled out a while ago citing zika because it's important to her to be able to have a family in the future.

Are all these players withdrawing from Rio gonna pull out of next year's Miami Open? I don't think so. Miami is a mandatory anyway.

Is there any indication that it has long term effects like that? I've not seen anything beyond don't get pregnant for 6 months after your partner's symptoms start. Or if a woman gets it, wait 8 weeks after recovery.

Prize money and ranking points are immune to Zika apparently.
