Surely by 2020 a man born in rhe 1990's will win a grand slam singles titles.

If a man born in the 1990's has still not won one by 2025 it would be extraordinary.

It's extraordinary already, I'm not sure it will happen, maybe we'll miss a decade and it will be noughties kids winning. I think only two have made finals, they're the ones that could do it soon, but Nishikori seems a bit physically suspect for a fortnight and Raonic is basic.

Kyrgios is a mental case, Thiem maybe, who else? Generation fail.

Don't care much about the mens after sitting through that appalling Nole-Gael match, I probably favour Stan.”

Same for me on both counts. Kerber should win I feel. But I don't know enough about Pliskova to judge whether she will be nervous, or if she is pulling a Garbine at the FO. I just hope for a good final as this tournament has been a complete dud for me in every way. If Novak wins the title that will just be the icing on the cake.

I've seen a lot of Pliskova, she is what she is, incredible serve and an amazing forehand when it's on, she's not hugely mobile, and you'd think Angie should exploit that, but the H2H is close and of course Karolina crushed her in Cincy.

Just hold serve now boys and the title is yours.

Jamie and Bruno really have looked supreme this tournament, complement each other so well.

So potentially a really good final, unless they repeat the Cinci final. I hope not, I hope that Kerber was nervous about getting the number 1/tired. Not that it would have changed the outcome, but Kerbs could have made more of an impact.

Oh she was definitely tired, not even sure she should have played the tournament, and she wouldn't have if number 1 wasn't on the line, all her matches have been straight sets here though, and she's one of the fitter players out there, so we'll see.

Yes!!!! Well done boys. 2 slam titles now for Jamie. He's catching up with little bro quick. I wonder which bro will win the most slams in their careers.

Jamie has as many GS titles as his bro now.

Anyone for tennis forgetting his mixed title.

Oh yeah forgot about the mixed ages ago. Can't believe that was 9 years ago.

That was funny when Jamie had a dig at Andy for winning one more slam title than him in the same year.

It was a nice touch that the presentation was compered by Patrick McEnroe, another brother overshadowed by an even more gifted sibling. Great pleasure to see Jamie getting this title - not the Murray we expected to win in New York but lovely to watch. He and Soares seem to complement each other very nicely.

TBH it does seem quite a long while ago, winning with the Empress must of course been Jamie's career highlight.

A topless 3rd set. That would definitely send ratings through the roof if Ana was playing Monica.

I liked the idea of Bruno pegging his shirts out to dry round the chairs - he has a nice sense of humour.

He has a dry sense of humour. I can see why he and Jamie get on so well.

Congratulations to Jamie, always had to live in the shadow of his brother but now arguably one of the greatest doubles players of his generation and beginning to rack up the slams.

I had other stuff to do today and ended up forgetting Jamie & Bruno were playing My son had made me feel guilty all day because I'd needed his help so he was forced to miss the Old Firm match but now it's time for me to guilt trip him

Two GS titles in the same year for Jamie & Bruno!!! I'm glad to see them win it after kind of getting sick of Herbert/Mahut winning loads. I sometimes think that Bruno lets Jamie down with quite a few shots but he does end up getting more than his share of the crucial ones.

I think that's how Jamie prefers it, it's allowed him to just crack on in his own way and develop into the champion he's become.

Finding this match difficult to call. Kerber is the favourite and should win, but she's lost two big finals recently that she should have won, so far more pressure on her. All in all I'll go for Kerber in three sets... but who knows.
