Excellent, Kerber takes the 1st. It's been a quality final so far. I can see Pliskova is nervous but not too bad. I can see her winning the next if she settles more.

Kerber taking control and keeping Pliskobot moving.

Kerber hasn't lost a match in 2016 when she's won the opening set.

This is a great match from a neutral point of view. I like what I see from Pliskova but Kerber is making some great winners. Hope it goes to three.

yeahhhhh Jamie and Bruno!! Funny how the 2 slams in which they've made finals they've won and Andy hasn't (Aus and here).

I think we may have to count on nerves. Pliskova is serving for the set. I think she will do it and take it to a 3rd.

Even if she does, Pliskobot still has to do the impossible and overcome the fact that Kerber is 44-0 in 2016 when she's won the first set.

Keep the faith! Auf geht's Kerber.

Come on, Ange!

I'm not really Karolina's biggest fan.

Well done to Karolina, she worked so hard for that break, and now she takes the set! Still think I want Kerber to pull through here, but most of all hoping for a real tussle in the final set.

I do like that stat, lets hope she makes it 45 tonight. I'm enjoying the match, it's turned out to be really good.

Pliskova has also never beaten Kerber in 3 sets.

To me, stats like that just say she's overdue to lose from that position.

sorry I'm the glass half empty kind of guy.

Was Pliskova's coach, coaching her there, very odd way he had his fingers on his face...in a v shape.
