What exactly do you mean by that? Pliskova deserved that match just as much as Kerber, but she just ran out of a little steam in the end. They both played really well and it was a good final for a neutral.

Congrats Kerber, enjoyed the ride. The other girl can feel proud. Maybe one day she could win a slam.

I know your beliefs, but honestly K aro is a bit more than that and she's shown it with her many titles, she's really not a coco imho.
Weird having a new #1, also weird because normally when someone other than Serena is at the top it feels a bit hollow. Kerber absolutely owns that position now with a healthy 1,680 lead over Serena. I expect that will have narrowed by the end of the season, I think Serena will play Beijing and Singapore and that's it. Certainly don't expect to see her slumming it in Wuhan that's for sure ![]() Just how brilliantly unpredictable is tennis though? If someone told you at the beginning of 2016 that Kerber would win two slams and take the #1 ranking they'd laugh in your face. |

Pliskova could still win a title this weekend , sister Kristyna is in the the Dalian Women's Final in China . Her opponent is Misa Eguchi from Japan , which is a new name for me .
Should be pretty even Misa is ranked 119 while Kristyna is 122 |

Well she won slightly bizzarely with Eguchi retiring whilst winning the final set 5-2, I suggest she does a soft-porn type instagram to celebrate.

Not been here for a while
Awesome win by Lucas over Nadal Pliskova finally does well at a slam Kerber is a deserved #1 with two slams. Will Serena be back at #1? No one knows. 750 p now, but what will Serena do rest of season? |

Also, Norwegian Casper Ruud wins a challenger and joins "exclusive" list of guys who done so before turning 18. Manye of them went to to become really good. Hmf.
