Right? It's really odd, I know they want to win but... Really? Patrick gets on my nerves no end, coming up with endless reasons for why Serena loses a match. Mugs was so right, when she won the French, it was because she was the best player on the day. He was basically saying Serena would have won but she's injured. Therefore, Mugs didn't win - Serena lost. It's just so condescending.

Damn, I'd feel ripped off if someone bought me a single Compeed for a Secret Santa.

Obviously Nole does have a problem here unless the trainer added a blood patch during the first medical timeout. And he's been unhappy with his arm for a while. But... he's just not as good as he was and I think he knows this. He seems quite hard on himself and it'll be interesting to see how he bounces back from three poor major tournaments in a row.

Not really. Despite winning that game it's obvious Nole isn't right physically.

Stan played brilliantly. Nole... was not for the first time this year very poor. Questions to be asked now.

Well, he's won a slam every year since his first. Maybe next year?

Sanity prevails! Stan's only a Wimbledon away from completing the set now!

Nole will get nowhere near it. He entered this year at his peak and has faded badly. There are far too many good players who can put him on the back foot now.

He won't reach 17 slams now. Not at his age.

Well done Stan.

I wonder if Dan Evans is thinking "that could have been me!"

Only two men in 29 years have won The US Open after losing the 1st set , Stan becomes the third .
