I agree. He's just planning the completion of the StanSlam next year He's also daydreaming of spectacular shorts to hypnotise the opposition with

Hadn't seen some of those Sharapova one liners.

'Is her last name Jankovic'

'Isn't she back in Poland already'

Heather retired in her match in Wuhan. I don't know what was wrong.
Jo won her opening match.

Dizziness and stuff. It's on the BBC sports webpage. Poor Heather, she has had a lousy year in singles. She has a new coach though (as also mentioned in the article)

John-Laffnie de Jager.

I know him from my coaching days and he's a good guy - I hope it works for them both.

Just can't catch a break at the minute, similar with Bencic who took a nasty tumble in her match with Kuznetsova and felt the lower back pain again. The Wuhan locker room is more like a makeshift A & E, the amount of retirements being racked up.

And he's only off to Chengdu of all places this week Dunno why he's chasing points to this extent, he's pretty safe for London. It's some vulturing that Errani would be proud of though

The word on the on the interwebs is she's doing it to try and get her head together, apparently she's still playing Luxembourg and (I think) Linz to finish the season. The more I watch Genie struggle though the more I wonder if there really is anything to get together, and maybe 2014 really was just a flash in the pan. She was riding a huge wave of confidence so maybe if she can that back she may get somewhere, but in all likelihood she's probably a solid top 20 player at most.

Well done Woz, only watched the first set, hideously anti-tennis, but she has been doing it for years, and looks like she'll carry on doing it. Why oh why couldn't Rory have married her and giving her little Leprechaun sprogs to look after.”

Haha, love that Sharapova shade compliation. I know the narrative with her is that she's a massive bitch but to be fair in most cases she's usually responding to some prior provocation. I dunno what the "this is my home" thing was about though?

Anyway, really pleased with how this week transpired on the ATP side, great to see Zverev get his first title by beating two ten players, even if Wawrinka was a little fatigued. Nice to see Pouille win as well.

The WTA, meanwhile, are in Wuhan this week. Lisicki has already lost so it's all going to plan so far.

At least Heather gets the points for winning a couple of qualifying matches.

Still waiting for the main draw of the ITF event in Las Vegas. I presume Laura is playing as she was at a Celine Dion gig in Vegas over the weekend.

Not sure if it has been posted but Kimiko Date-Krumm announces divorce from Husband Michael Krumm.

I wonder if Kimiko is still planning a return to Tennis?

Happy birthday to Serena. No 35 year old woman has ever won a Slam title.

But then neither had a 34 year old woman until Wimbledon this year.

Oh Garbine. Not much to say really, other than I think she'll probably have a Kvitova like career, big highs, big lows. When you take out RG her season hasn't even been that impressive, it's actually the only final she's reached all year.

The tennis meme fb page has a post up that says Thiem plays his 100th match of the year next! Murray has played 73, the next highest.

This tweet emphasises that well.

Completely mental and totally unsustainable if he wants to have a long-term career.

Garbine needs a new coach and to cut out some of the off-court stuff.
Either that or she'll do a Bouchard and just carry on with the big lows. Surely the biggest anti clmax of a season for any player since...well. bouchard.
And yes, I ain't forgot she won in Paris.....

I'd go further...take RG out, and she wouldn't even be in the top 20 on this year's form

Run! Run! That was a great compilation, but it makes me realise how much of a hole she's left.
